FREESTYLE NAPPING with HAILEY and PHOD

I love to go for walks.  But truth be told, I'm not a really good "walker".  The Zoolatry Human (the grandmother, the blogger here) doesn't walk me, cause to put it simply "I took her down!".  I'm big, I'm strong and I'm fast, especially if I see another dog, a bunny or squirrel, or just about any other animal in the neighborhood.  It's not that I mean them any harm, I'm just very friendly and very social and actually I've done a pretty good take-down of all the other family members too!  So now I have all kinds of "paraphernalia" to wear when I go walking.  Sigh.  So when I read Hailey and Phod's post about their walking adventure recently, boy ... did I understand ... that's me to a "T" as they say.

But I digress ... today is not about walking, but napping, the freestyle way, and that I am very good at and I can do it just about anywhere, anytime and any which way you can imagine!  But I do like to nap on this old table here ... my basket of "paraphernalia" is right behind me (even though you can't see it in the picture) so it's kind of a hint to any passers-by that even tho I might be napping I am always walking-ready!

  3. That does look like such a great place for a nap Dougie. Too bad you are hard to walk since you are so enthusiastic. You all have a great day.

  4. Just look at you in your strategic snoozie spot, Dougie. Too cute!

You know, pup Astrid has lots of gear for her walks as well. She is a bundle of energy, but is also fearful of other dogs (I guess it doesn't help that she was chased by more than one as a puppy). Training her out of that has taken lot of extra parts and pieces. We actually say that we have to get her dressed before we can walk her. She wears a boot on her back right foot to protect a healing tumor, she wears a ThunderShirt, we have a special leash that goes around our waist, and we carry a little tub of peanut butter as her training treat. Sometimes it feels like getting ready for a walk takes just as long as the walk itself!

  6. That's a very unique spot for your nap, Dougie. We thought you might prefer to have a pillow under you, but then we remembered that we do enjoy sleeping on the hardwood floors too. Just don't roll over too quickly:)

  8. Well done Dougie dog!
The napping, not the taking the Grandma down.
