Interesting photo and I love the turtle. Cheers Diane
I had to scroll up and find the turtle, I missed it the first time - thanks!
Nice shot of the big wing span. Don't know what kind of bird that is.

I love to see them drying their wings like this. great capture
So beautiful! I love wild bird Wednesday!
That bird doesn't look wild at all. I'm the wild child of the avian set.
I've never heard of an anhinga before; what a cool water bird!
I love the birds. They are most entertaining to watch fish. Beautiful.Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Scritches to Dougie Dog and Miss Zoey. Big hug to you. ♥
Water birds, also often called "snake birds" as they dive (fish) for their food and when doing so all that can often be seen atop the water is the long, slender neck, appearing to look like a snake on the water. Following they must stay on land for a time, spreading and drying out their large wings. The wings take on too much water to allow them to fly. They will often stand with wings spread toward sun or light for half hour up to an hour. Found in warmer, tropical climates.
How beautiful and he looks like a big boy!
Great capture! Have fun today!
Gorgeous!! Also love the wild turtle! :-)
Love those pretty feathers!
I've never seen one of those before, even though I've been to Florida a couple times. The turtle was a surprise. I didn't notice him when I was using my cell phone, but on the desk top screen I saw him right away!
Neat photo! I haven't seen an anhinga yet.
