FELINE FRIDAY ~ I HAVE A NEW NAME, A LONG STORY

In just five more days I will officially be 8-months old.  Apparently, the ZH decided it was time for me to have a new name.  I don't know if all kitties get new names when they become 8-months old or not, but she said that will be my purrs-day gift.  Not much of a gift if you ask me!  And anyway, she's been using my new name a lot the last few days already, so how can it be something I'm going to get for my purrs-day?

It's all very confusing.  And actually it's not just one name, there are several.  So I'll share them with you:

Nojuneno

Ohnojune

JUNENO! sounds like "juno"

Nononostop

Leaveitbe

Igiveup

JUUUUNE

I don't like any of these names.  They aren't often said in a very, oh, shall we say "soothing" tone of voice either.  So, I first heard "Nojuneno" the day I discovered the wonderful cell phone, computer and TV cords all in this big thing on the floor charging up or whatever, and they were quite fun to paw at and chew at and ...  Then another day I heard her yell, yes she actually yelled "JUUUUNE" when all I was doing was eating her dried flower arrangement, which was not very pretty anyway!  And she'd probably ban me to the basement (if we had one) for telling you this, but then I got two of these put together when she said "JUNENO! Igiveup" and if you want to know what precipitated that: it was only because she was showering before bedtime, I pushed back the curtain and jumped in to join her, then there I was a wet cat and the wetness thing made me want to use my litter box, so from shower-to-box I quickly went, and then being a bit embarrassed cause I was a little messy, ran from there to the bed and got under the covers!  And here she comes, dripping wet herself, a bit red in the face!  And instead of being refreshed from her shower and ready for bed ~ she has to clean up a litter covered wet cat (that would be me) and change the bed sheets and well ~ that's kind of the end of the story as to why I have all these new names.

But, guess what?  Finally, we went to bed, together as always.
And in the morning, she scritched my ears and sweetly rubbed my tummy,
and I licked her paws, and we touched noses,
and she said, "I love you, June."

... maybe I'll get something else for my 8-month purrs-day after all ...

  1. It is usual to get a lot of different names June, but not so good when they are not in a nice tone. I am sure you will get something much better for your birthday.

  8. I still get called a few names like Comeherechester, Chesterstay, and gogetitChester, none of which I answer to. Sometimes my humans say shutupChester a lot louder than my barking. Humans are weird.

  9. I so understand, Juney. I've had similar names when I was younger. Heck, I still have some crazy-negative names!

  16. Like the boy who said his name was "Jimmy Stop It". May i suggest you will enjoy your own baths, and leave your ZH's showerbath alone.

  17. We all had some names like that when young. They are surely names of love, though we never quite unnerstood them. But we are sure your Mom will settle down on one name (like Juney) as you get used to the home and those others will fade away as you learn The Rules.
