THANKFUL THURSDAY ~ Hi Chester, Hi Kismet

On this Thankful Thursday I want to thank two good friends I've met since coming to live at Zoolatry.  We live way high-up ~ I'm told it is the 16th floor!  There are lots of interesting things to look at, day and night.  One thing I don't ever see are those critters called squirrels.  But I am learning all about them, and maybe someday when I'm down at ground-level I'll meet a few.  In the meantime I want to give a big paws-up to my friend Chester L.W. Spaniel at THE DAILY BONE. Thanks to him and his daily reporting (he is quite the journalist, you know, witty and he does his research, knows his stuff!) I can say I've become quite knowledgeable about the Evil Squirrel Cartels.  You ought to read what he has to say sometime!

Also, since my 16th floor is right in the "heart of the city", I really don't get to see a lot of birds!  And you know how we cats love to bird-watch!  So, I have this other little blue friend (with wings). Now I don't mean blue as is sad ~ but blue as in a really purrty color blue ~ and like Chester L.W., oh what a talker!  Droll (a bit on the sarcastic side, though I love that kind of humor).  That clever sweet SquAAAaaaaaWK is music to my ears ... and I always giggle when Kismet visits me.  Go meet and greet my friend KISMET.

So, there I was, doing some window watching and guess what, Kismet ... my head went thisaway and thataway faster than you can say "sunflower seed" ... cause a whole flock, like billions maybe, there they were, flying by, flying high!  And if it weren't for you Kismet, I wouldn't even know about birds (can you tell me about the bees, too?)  What a sight, what a treat.  I guess they were headed south (not the place to travel to right now) ... maybe I'll see them again when the fly back home!

  1. In college my mom lived on the 15th floor and had kitties. They never got to see things like that either, but at the time mom never thought about it. Our cat kitties enjoy watching birdies and other critters from our windows. Glad you got to see a birdie.

  2. It's lovely to make new friends, June, especially when they help educate you! We hope you get to see more birds soon. There are predator birds aplenty in urban areas, and they often nest up at the tops of buildings. Maybe your human can find you a live web cam to watch next spring, when it's hatching time. :-)

  11. oh! WoW! We have lived high in the sky when Mom lived in an apartment in the city! As country cats (and Dog) we missed the birds. Mom used to put the Cornel Bird feeder Cam at Sapsucker Woods on Youtube, we still love to watch it. You should try it! And we are glad you are making so many nice furrends! We too love our online buddies (especially yous).

  14. Thanks so much for the wonderful review of my doggie blog The Daily Bone, Junie. We've already gotten comments from some new friends. We wish you could come over and see all the birdies around here lately, from huge flocks of geese flying over, to the little group of juncos that visits the feeder in the late afternoon. There's something going on all say long!

  16. Maybe you can put one of those suction feeders on a window? Do you have a terrace or balcony? I am sure you would get some takers!
