Last weekend we were thankful for the most beautiful days one could ask for ... bright blue skies, perfect temperatures, light breezes. And it was the Annual Flower Show in the park ... with yummy food booths, arts and crafts vendors ~ smiling people ~ and puppers of every breed or mix you can imagine! Cute happy toddlers, babies in strollers ... a clown here or there ... balloons and streamers on lampposts .... music drifting in the air from a live concert. Flowers and plants from local growers overflowed the walkways begging to be taken home to gardens and porches and balconies ~ colorful, common and exotic, small to large ~ fresh potted herbs and spices for the kitchen kings. Here, streets and walks are old brick and cobblestone, so I still walk with care, and took only a few photos.
Walking up toward the center of the park where Baltimore's Washington Monument stands tall, a gentleman in a huge flowered hat was ahead ... his cart of similarly flowered toppers to the side. He didn't want to face the camera, but pulled out a "little hat" for JUNE to wear and she stood beside him (briefly allowed out of her stroller) for their photo session together.*
flowers and the rest of this lovely day.

ReplyDeleteWow! I've never seen anything like that flower hat! I'm glad you and June had a nice day!
ReplyDeleteThe Lilac Festival begins this weekend in Rochester NY. However, there's a general rule in this area to never plant any tomatoes or annual flowers until after Memorial Day. Yes, we've had snow as late as Mother's Day!
It looks wonderful, was June sad to have missed it? If so, maybe she'll want to go next year.
ReplyDeleteHe who has flowers on his head has manure on the brain.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful event to go to with all those lovely flowers everywhere.
