Mine Mommy is super sleepy today, not sure we'll get 'round to see many of you.
At 2:30 am our fire alarm went off and kept going and going like that old energizer bunny for 30-minutes,
it's very loud and that "lady in the squawk box lives right up over our bed"
and I don't like her voice at all!
She was yelling "emergency get out of the building".
Of course, I ran and hid in the closet, and mine Mommy
won't get-out-of-the-building without me ~ so that was that!
She's says it's never easy anyway to carry "chubby me" down
16-flights of stairs in my carrier if'n she can even get me in the carrier!
Treats are no encouragement when the carrier is out.
At 3:45 am a fireman gave an "all clear" through that same box thing
and then we finally curled up for some more sleep, but it didn't come easy.
Now, mine Mommy is not only tired but a little cranky and grumpy.
I can't figure out why though,
I only meowed and pawed at her head at 5:00 am desperately wanting breakfast.
It might be wise to hide in the closet again.
June, it's a good thing it was just a false alarm. We're grateful for that for you. But as I see this picture it looks like you are sound asleep in your mommy is still wide awake and wound up. By the way you remind me of the Headless Horseman because I don't see your pretty head.
ReplyDeleteoh no what a scary night... it fortnately was a fail, but this feeling when an alarm goes off... so horrible..
ReplyDeleteThat is no good. We don't like it when our smoke detectors do that beeping randomly in the night. It makes for a very crabby mommy at our house too. We replaced them all as they were about at the end of their life span so hopefully they will stay quiet for a long time...unless there is a fire.
ReplyDeletesorry for the lack of sleep and glad you two did not burn up in a fire. that is scary. I just love love love that white polkadot blankie. if I did not have way to many blankies i would get one
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer, June...for you and your meowmy, and all the other people who had no rest.
ReplyDeleteGood that there was no fire.
juney chowder fire safe tee izza good thing and we R glad ther waz noe
ReplyDeleteeeee murgencee 🙀🙀🙀 if yur mom findz de other three dwarves 😺
then may bee a good nap thiz afturr noon iz in order 🐟💙💚
It's no fun to be woken up by some lady yelling at you from the ceiling in the wee hours of the morning. We hope your mom can take a nap and feel less grumpy.
ReplyDeleteWe're so glad to hear that it was a false alarm but it's not good to lose sleep. You and your mommy will be napping a lot today, Juney.
ReplyDeleteI hate those nights and those batteries seem to go off in the middle of the night. Bugger. Yes you better leave mom alone today.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥
Charlee: "Whew, we're glad you didn't actually have to flee the building! We ran away from a fire once and it was no fun!"
ReplyDeleteChaplin: "That was a different kind of fire but yes I agree, no fun. Although it was nice to take a road trip with Dennis."
Oona: "All that excitement must have made you hungry. Oona supports an early breakfast!"
June ~ am always glad to see you sweet one ~ great photo ~ Hope Mom feels better and takes a nap ~ hugs,
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

I would not like annoying alarms either. Good thing it was a false alarm though!!!!

June on top of SLEEPY/CRANKY/GRUMPY that thing scares the living daylights out of me. And of course there is no sleeping once you either get all clear. Even though we have 5 year $$$$ batteries in ours alarms we change them about every 18 months just to avoid their screaming. never fails they only scream in the wee hours
ReplyDeleteHugs and naps I hope
Cecilia
Oh my! We got woken up on Tuesday, last week by our doorbell being rang so frantically... at 5:45 AM and banging on the door!
ReplyDeleteHusband Pieter went to check and there was an elderly lady (84) in her plaid pajamas and red winter coat. Her car was on our lawn...! She was scared and told us a confusing story of a man + wife + kids being in her home. She escaped but with no lights on her car! She lives at the end of our road on the corner. When she tried to call 911, her phone was dead so she asked me to dial. We had let her inside, out of the cold and seated on the oak coat rack chest in our hallway, so she talked to the 911 people. A sheriff arrived after some waiting time and he checked her license plate (which was from another address...?) and then he called the paramedics as he found out she had mental problems. Also called for a back up and that other deputy drove the car out of our lawn, no lights functioning! and he got escorted by the the first sheriff that arrived. Paramedics put her on the stretcher and by 7:40 AM all the flashing lights were being shut out when we closed our front door to have an early breakfast.
Don't want a repeat of that!!!
Hugs,
Mariette
I would be cranky too being woken by some woman shouting to get out of the building! I am always cranky in the morning until my first coffee because I rarely sleep for more than 2 hours.
ReplyDeleteWow, that was a rough night, June! So sorry to hear, hope everyone catches up on rest.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an awful night. XO
ReplyDeleteWondering if someone pulled the alarm as a prank in the middle of the night. An any case, isn't it nice to know your Mom would rather die WITH you than live WITHOUT you, June?
ReplyDeleteThat's no fun at all and I would have covered up and ignored that alarm too sweet June!
ReplyDeleteHow traumatic!!! Maybe she should've given you breakfast at 3:45 before trying to go back to sleep ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad you are all safe and hope she catches up on her sleep soon.
ReplyDeleteP.S. it might be a good idea to sleep with the closet door closed so you can't go hide in there if there's an emergency.
That sounds like it was scary and sleepless, Juney and Mom. We hope tonight is full of blissful slumber for you both.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nightmare. Those alarms should be quieter so they wouldn't scare sweet pets.
