MORE ABOUT THAT CAT TREE

More about that cat tree ~
So now it's back by the window.

I do admit to liking it here.  Daytime and nighttime.
Sunlight and warm breezes, or watching the city lights.

But, yes, meow.  I'm in the middle.  No top level for me, never ever.
Can't help but wonder ~ could I have been the middle child kitty in my clowder?

No, that's not it at all, June.  There were four kitties in your clowder ...
you're just a strange little girl about some things.

Sorta like not being a liberal and not being a conservative, but hanging out
somewhere in the middle. Reminds me that I heard once upon a time, long ago,
there was a pawlitical party called the "mugwumps",
cause they sat with their mugs on one side of the fence and their wumps on the other!

Cute name, huh? Which in turn, reminds me of yet another story: when I first
moved to DC after college, in the apartment building where I lived,
a "rock band" moved in briefly and temporarily, they were called "The Mugwumps"
and performed at local venues, and practiced on our rooftop deck. The
building had young tenants, all would gather up there to party, listen to their
music ... they were John, Michelle, Denny and Cass.
" California Dreamin' " ~ do you know their real name as fame came?

  1. What a cool story about the rock band! It's okay to not like the top level of your tree. They are all different and you have to use the level that works best for you.

  2. Mama's and the Papa's. I still like their songs even as old as I am. June you look gorgeous on your tree.

  3. #1 says she loved The Mamas and The Papas! That's a beautiful cat tree. Ryū would probably claim the top level!

  4. It is your tree, so go wherever you want to on it, June. How exciting to be able to watch the pop group practice before they became the Mamas and Papas in the mid 60s!

  9. I am wondering if the top is scary by the window because you are looking down at how high you are.. you look great no matter which bed you choose. I know the song but can't remember the band name

  11. OMG! You knew The Mamas & the Papas before they were famous!? How cool is that. It would be great if you somewhere had a picture of them on the rooftop. You are a silly kitty to not go on the top of your cat tree when it's in the corner, June.

  14. Mom loved Cass Elliott and was so sad when she passed. Yesterday, mom was washing the picture window on the outside where she had to use her 4' step ladder. She hates the step that's one from the top. I really whigs her out to have to use it but if she wants to reach the top of the window..............That's how we think of you refusing to use the top bunk on your cat tree.

  25. You lived in the same apartment building as the Mamas and the Papas? Wow!

Juney, maybe you like having a ceiling over you and feel safer on that middle perch?

  26. I would guess it's harder to see out the window from the top, even if it gives a better view in the center of the room.

Nice to be able to say you knew them as kids just starting out, isn't it.

  27. i need to get a dog tree. Is dog wood a good building base?

  28. Nicew to have a choice about where to sit or nap...pick the one you love the best! ybe you love that middle level because it seems to be about the same level as the windowsill?
How amazing that you knew and heard that band before it got to be so famous!
Every once in a while I hear a violinist on the radio, and I think, wow, I knew her when she was not even a teenager! She and I had the same teacher...she went on, and I did too, but not in the same way, LOL!

  29. We could use more middle of the roaders these days, June. Too many extremes on both sides have made people crazy.

Whoa...the Mamas and the Papas lived in your building? How cool is that. A nice evening concert would have been very groovy. ;)

  30. Chaplin: "Maybe the top of the cat tree is already occupied by a 'ghost cat' ― you know, like one of those 'ghost runners' in baseball when there aren't enough players on the team!"
