We are in the early to bed, early to rise CATegory.
Definitely up by 4 am [ET], sometimes even earlier.
While I set up the Keurig for my coffee, Southern Pecan preferred,
June has breakfast nearby.
I sit at our little table, barefoot, pajama legged,

sipping that hot wonderful brew,
seeing city lights in the still dark.
Little movement on Charles Street. All is so quiet.
The birds not yet ready to rise and chirp.
Soon the sun will begin to rise over the high rise office towers

and apartment buildings before me ...
another day has been gifted to us.

June? She sits quietly under my chair.

We too are early to bed, early to rise but we don't get up until 4:30. Mom drinks ice water and we often go back to bed for a bit until she is ready to go out for her run with Olivia and walk with me and Bailie. Early morning time is the best as it is so peaceful. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI'm usually awake then, but try not to get up until 5 or later. The quiet, peaceful start to the day is a joy, though!
ReplyDeletePeaceful, calm, hopeful.
ReplyDeleteI agree, pre-dawn is the most beautiful part of the day for me too!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the purrfect morning together.
ReplyDeleteThat's a purrfect morning routine!
ReplyDeleteWe are early risers too but 4:45 works better for us. Love your June blog header, Juney!
ReplyDeleteWhen you get up that early, it's nice to have a furry companion to watch the worls come alive :)

I am up 3:45 on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays so I can take hubby to dialysis.
ReplyDeleteI am a morning person which helps. I do enjoy my morning coffee too.
Take care, enjoy your day! and the week ahead!
That sure is an early rise time. We are way behind you and if my mom had anything to say about it we would sleep much later...but I make sure we don't get up too late so I can have my breakfast on time.

we too are awakened around 4 almost every morning! Mr Kozmo is Old, refuses to use a litter box (he MUST go outside) and 4ish is when he YELLS outside the bedroom window, awakening Nutmeg, who then jumps on Mom to let him in! He yelled at Mom at 2 to let him out and he will yell (again) around 6 am. Mom says she would give almost anything to get a full night's sleep, but she loves her cuddly old boy cat - even if he has to GO (every 2 hours). And will continue being sleep deprived... Me, Marvelous? I sleep on the spare bed, in the Man Cave, downstairs where I don't hear a thing! Keep being awesome ladies! Your #1 Fan Boy, Marvelous Marv!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a purrfect start to the day, Ann and June. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice way to start a morning.
ReplyDeleteOften times when you get up is when I get to go to bed...LOL! I am a night owl, thanks to years and years of swing shift work, esp second shift...which is the shift I do nowadays, at least when I work...all the Thursdays this month...I get to choose which days I work, depending on what shifts are available. Day shift?? Nope not for me!!
ReplyDeleteYOu look cute pretending to not be seen, Miss June!
It sounds like a lovely way to wake up
ReplyDeleteTeddy and I love early mornings together......Dad is snoring but we're up and at 'em early. I love the early morning "quiet in the dark" and watching the light slowly creep into the house quietly every day. I've always been an early bird kind of girl!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
Wow! That is almost inconceivable for us! We generally get up around 8am in the summer, and sometimes 9am in the winter! Then again, we go to bed at some point between 11pm and midnight! We love to sleep!
ReplyDeleteYikes. That is too early for me! :-D
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "A girl needs her meditation time in the morning, am I right, June?"
ReplyDeleteThat's such a cute pic of June. The early morning hours are the best time of day.
