Mine Mommy does still remember one of the first rules
learned in her long-ago photography class.
Though apparently she forgot it here.
Though apparently she forgot it here.
"See what the camera sees", the instructor always said,
especially when a student shared a photo with
the proverbial light pole sticking up out of someone's head ...
So I seem to have an alien space ship landing on my head.
Or am wearing something reminiscent of a Jackie Kennedy pillbox hat?
Lampshade? Yeah. Right behind me, glowing in all its brilliance.
You'd have thought with her supposed photoshop skills [?]
she might have cropped it out and away ...
What did she do instead? Thought maybe it would look "cute",
all altered weird 'n' crazy 'n' colorful to use as her I-phone wallpaper.
Turns out not.
I was only phone wallpaper less than 2 minutes.
Now pretty flowers bloom there.
Happy June.

There are a lot of good rules to follow yet most don't follow them these days. Mom can't understand why people don't pay attention when they take a photo. Most just snap and go with no idea how to take good pics. You look good in your pic despite the alien ship behind your head.
ReplyDeleteWe think you look cute!
ReplyDeleteWow, fabulous! Snazzy! I like both versions! I can't do anything nearly that advanced with photo editing, but I do enjoy the limited changes I'm able to do.

ReplyDeleteMy mom needs to take a photography class but we really like the I-phone wallpaper a lot, Juney. It's really pretty!
ReplyDeleteJune, you are a funny girl🩷 I love that your Mom likes to "play" with her images. A different perspective is always appreciated and enjoyed. Good Morning... our weather🌧️
ReplyDeleteWe think you are looking very chic with your "light up hat" ;-)

Someone learned a lot about photography while working as a realtor.
ReplyDeleteSo many agents took a pic of the front of a house, leaving a tree, telephone pole, or mailbox in the shot.
Just a few steps over, and get a clear image of the house!
Also attended several photography classes, especially how to take good images of our anipals.
That is, until adopting two black cats; all tricks go out the window because of poor lighting.
But, I keep trying...*smirk*
June I love your photo looks like you are wearing a chef's hat.
ReplyDeleteWhen my BIL got married many years ago I was snapping photos of them. They were standing in front of a long table.
I fail to notice a giant artificial (with feathers) plant behind the bride...when I had them developed it looked like she was wearing an native American Head dress. She loved
Hugs cecilia
PS Meant to say bil and his wife will be relocating to Gaithersburg in the next 6 months.
DeleteShe is a native of Rockville. Moved to our area 30 years ago for her first husband's job.
All her siblings and daughter and her family (3 grands) live there so they are excited.
We'll miss them needless to say
we like both pictures
ReplyDeleteWell, I quite liked the photo - indeed, I was so focused on the beautiful face that I didn't even notice the big light source in the back 😹

ReplyDeleteYour mom created beautiful artwork out of that photo!
ReplyDeleteI don't care what is behind you, June. You still are a cutie.
ReplyDeleteJune, you should be your Mom's phone wallpaper, just like I am, in with a good picture! After all, we're the ones our Mommies love most, right? XOX Xena
ReplyDeleteSometimes you have to try out and odd idea to see if it works. If not, start again.
ReplyDeleteYep, I have lots of those strange objects, etc, pictures, too...even though my father who took good pictures and did weddings in his younger years, well, he taught me a lot about compostion...do I follow his advice?? um...sometimes!
ReplyDeleteThe backlighting shows you off nicely though! Pillbox hat or whatever, I still like that picture!
Both images are adorable! Take care, enjoy your day!
