PHOTO HUNT: DARK
I believe this is a subtle hint from the ZH that she is glad Halloween will soon be over.
She says it qualifies for Photo Hunt cause it's "dark humor". Ha!

MASKED MONDAY Retrospective
Well, friends ~ in spite of what Zoey had to say ~ according to Gramma, today is
MASKED MONDAY. It's a look back at some of our good furriends who took part in 2009.
But this year she's made it easier for you, their names are next to their pictures!

SPOOKY and SILLY SUNDAY
Zoey is offering up something a bit silly today.
Maggy is being a bit spooky today.
Hoping your Sunday is spooky - or silly - or maybe, just easy.

FRIENDS FRIDAY
Hi, Zoey here, with a little story to share... once upon a time in the land of Zoolatry ~ way back when we first started being bloggers, we met some really special and wonderful friends. Seems like we've been friends furever, though we've never met one another face to face, whisker to whisker, tail to tail. They all live "across the pond", a place we've never been. But recently, they all got together and met one another ~ how special is that? We so wished we could have been there with them all ~ so today, through the magic of blogging and cyberspace, we are joining them!
There's Mr and Mrs A who are owned by Eric and Flynn... see flat Eric and flat Flynn,
they're on the table, we brought them a little pumpkin.
And there's Ginger Jasper's pet humans, Mr and Mrs P. We brought a
pumpkin for flat Jasper, too.
And over there on the right, flat Milo and flat Alfie (with a pumpkin) and the
humans they own, Mr and Mrs M.
I hope Mr P doesn't mind Maggy sitting on his shoulder!
And here I am (me, Zoey)... head-butting Mrs P and Mrs M.
Of course, the ZH had to get into the act also, those are her Halloween feets
over in the corner.
The ZH told me there's something really special about these humans,
she's happy they got to meet one another in real life,
and she hopes one day she'll be lucky enough to meet them.

TRIPLE THREAT TOCKTOBER
Yay for Tocktober! I wanted to show off my beautiful, fluffy, fuzzy-wuzzy, pantaloon-bloomers tocks! But then the grand-beans crawled into our cat tree's and stole my thunder ~ and whoa,
now those are some big 'n' bigger tocks, there!
now those are some big 'n' bigger tocks, there!
So, I guess you won't be treated to my
lovely tocks ~ being a little miffed ~ I just turned, and walked away.

MASKED MONDAY
Last year, I went through my Halloween Costume Trunk and decided that in order to earn some extra Christmas green papers, I'd hold a costume sale. The ZH told me that the "sales were great Zoey, you made lots and lots of monies". But when I opened the trunk this year ~ all the costumes were still there!!! All I can figure is that you know how moms are, they hate to throw away the special things their little kits had at one time or another. So anyway, I figured 'why not try again'... I know it's a tight economy and all, so I've priced these really well and they are one-size-fits-all ('cept maybe you really robust kitties out there). Oh, sorry, one of them did sell... but I don't know who bought it! And be sure to check out the Gift With Purchase, it's cool!

SPOOKY SUNDAY
We invited some furriends to stop by for
Halloween Temptations 'n Treats.
Wonder if you know who they are?
Halloween Temptations 'n Treats.
Wonder if you know who they are?
In a pumpkin patch, I'd fit perfectly,
I'm sweet, orange and round, do you know me?
Not me, not me ~ to you I say, t'was my evil twin that spoilt the day!
Do you know me? Or my evil twin?
His is a tail that's really quite grand ~ his tail is famous all over the land.
Do you know who this is?
Black cats we three. Black cats are we. But do not be frightened,
we're as sweet as can be. Do you know we three?

Meet Frootbat Eared Titus.
Titus was the first woofie we met when we began blogging quite a few years ago.
He lives with one of the kitties pictured today.
We asked Titus to help with the answers, for those who weren't sure:
And he said:
"I'm Titus the Dawg, of Furry Kids fame,
hope you had fun with our Halloween game.
If you cannot name the kitties shown here,
just scratch by my chin, for the answers are near."

PHOTO HUNT: MINIATURE
My House Is A Very Fine House
Our doll house, full of MINIATURE magic. This house was built circa 1976 by the father-in-law of the Zoolatry Human. It has moved through five homes and four states and today it entertains a whole new generation of children.
And sometimes, it even entertains the kitties of the house, and as Zoey says,
"my house is a very fine house".
More remarks from Zoey ~ [starting top right] ~ here I am at the front door... and there's our
kitchen, that's a favorite room of mine ~ and here is the ZH's granddaughter, welcoming me to the house!
Now I am taking a closer look at the kitchen, yes, I'm sure I see a bowl of kitty food there...
I am far from being a MINIATURE cat, but look, I fit purrfectly...
Having finished my food, I just relax a bit...
Oh yes, my house is a very fine house...
at least it was until I busted the front door!

National Feral Cat Day.
NATIONAL FERAL CAT DAY
Meet Smokey and Carlacita (we are guessing on the "he" and "she" here)... just two of our 2010 feral family. It all began last spring, when Porch Kitty, a/k/a PK, came to us ~ full of her kits waiting to be born. Soon, the day came when PK and five little ones were regular visitors for meal times, naps on the porch and playtime in the front garden. Now, in October 2010, this group has lost some, gained others. Three of the kittens have moved on. PK still comes, though does not interact with her young now, and may be pregnant once again. Then there is Grandpa, a chubby, somewhat tattered old grey-and-white cat, with ears that make us think of Scottish Fold cats. And Tiger, a young and very healthy looking, wonderfully handsome cat with stripes of many colors; perhaps abandoned rather than feral from the look of him. And Dad, although there may be two we call Dad ~ nearly identical pure black cats we cannot tell apart, and think fathered the original litter. Getting a photo or two of any of them is very difficult as all are shy and skittish, in spite of our efforts to befriend and welcome them all. Right now, we have neither time nor resources to manage TNR for this group, but hopefully we can keep them healthy, content and safe as we continue to feed, care for and enjoy them.
Our first feral family arrived in 2008: click here to read their story... the story of Annie, Bravo, Charlie and Delta Dawn... to this day, we miss them all, very much. Photographs of all of our feral cats can be seen by visiting OUR FERAL FAMILY, located under Who's Who On Zoolatry on our sidebar.

WEIRD WEDNESDAY
So, here we go ~ Boolatry time. I'm not sure what this picture has to do with Boolatry.
The ZH did put an orangey border on it and a pumpkin in the corner...
but otherwise, well, it just doesn't cut it. But on second thought, it is a "weird" picture,
and I kind of like that I am in it... in it... in it. Me! Left, Center, Right!

BOOLATRY ~ IT BEGINS NOW
So, last Sunday while others were nappng 'n watching football and I was wondering what to do... here's what I did: I found the ZH and sat her down and said, we gots to have a little talk-time, mom. You know, a let's get serious kind of talk. So she says OK, and I tell her: You know I love October, and Boolatry and it's my mostest favorite time cause I love to be silly or dress-up or be scary, but so far as I can tell, October is half gone and we've hardly done any Boolatry, and well, I am really, really upset! So, she says OK Zoey, but you know I'm just not up to lots of new pictures right now, so we'll have to revisit the old Boolatry posts and well, you know ~ rework, reinvent, repost. OK? So, I figured that would be better than nothing, so come along with me furriends... for what's left of October, we hope you'll enjoy our little visit to Boolatry of years past. Then she says, oops, sorry Zo, there will be some "special" days like
National Feral Cat Day [10/15] and Tocktober [10/20] and maybe some
Photo Hunts on Saturdays, and we have to do those... so I said:
OK, Mom... do what you will, just give me some Boolatry face time...
So... let's start with my "face"... and being the time of year it is, what with the mailbox overflowing with junky political mail and the phone ringing endlessly with robocalls... I really could not resist just a tiny little politicat statement here. Besides, I do love this hat!
Boolatry of years past had Spooky Sundays and Masked Mondays and Terrifying Tuesdays and Weird Wednesdays and Thursday Thrills and Frightening Fridays...
here are a few to kick off Boolatry 2010.

EASY, LIKE SUNDAY
An Easy Sunday in the Zoolatry home.
From the left: Maggy, napping. Poppy, watching the Redskins (and lookin' good!).
JuneyBug, napping. And Zoey, not interested in napping, not interested in the Redskins,
wondering what to do...
P.S. (the p.s. standing for PhotoShop)... in case anyone thinks this picture is
"real", Maggy would never get that close to either Zoey or JuneyBug,
and though Zoey has been known to sometimes get that close to one or t'other,
she's been "placed" in the picture as well... just wanted to see what it would
look like if they all spent an Easy Sunday, together! I'm a dreamer.

PHOTO HUNT: STRIPES
Zoey, I think you look quite attractive in stripes. They have a slimming effect.
Thanks, JuneyBug. But can you do something with the long sleeves, please.
My paws are stuck.
And JuneyBug, that slimming remark really wasn't necessary...

FRIENDS FRIDAY
The ZH wants me to thank everyfurry for the well wishes. She says she's doing just fine, though her world is a little lopsided and topsy-turvy. Cause she can see real good from one eye, but the other one is all still fuzzy wuzzy. She kind of bumps into things (like me!) when she walks around and she's always got her head tilted to one side and when she tries to do stuff on her 'puter, her whiskers hurt from tipping one way or t'other. But all will be fine in time she says. Just takes awhile. I think her eyes look a little like mine here...

ZOEY and THE CAT RACK
So, the strangest thing happened yesterday. The ZH bumped into me, and she said, Oh, I'm so sorry Maggy! I meowed, hey mom, it's me, Zoey, don't you know me? So she sits me down and tells me this story (yawn), she tells long stories. But anyway, she says: Zoey you know about a year ago I was supposed to have my cataracts removed. But they wouldn't do it then and I had to have retinal surgery instead, and I had it two times and it took a long time to heal. So in all that time, the cataracts got worse, and I can't see things too well and they are mostly blurry, furry and fuzzy and that's why I didn't recognize you. So I said to her, but mom, I'm furry and fuzzy anyway. She laughed a little. Well Zoey, she says again: I'm going tomorrow to get the cataracts removed, they'll do one this week and one next week, and then I'll be able to see you and see how purrty and furry you are! So, I said OK. And I asked so you won't put my pictures here for a few days, huh? And she said: that's right, no pictures for a few days, Zoey. Hey, I think I'd better go ask her if she'll bring that old cat rack home, sounds like a cool toy -- bet it's fun to climb on!
Speaking of cool things, the ZH told me, that I could offurrcially kick-off
BOOLATRY!
So, look out furriends, the fun will begin soon. It's me 'n' Maggys favorite time of year.
Well, it's really my favorite time, you know Mag, she's a little laid back for this stuff.
Anywhere... here we go... BOO!
And below... my favorite BOOLATRY poem, that the ZH helped me write a few years ago:
We'll be back soon, right now, I'm off to play with my new cat rack.
