THANKFUL THURSDAY and THOROUGHLY POETIC THURSDAY

She is standing there, thinking ~ should I simply walk away?
Why?
Her radio will not play.
Stupid girl.
You must plug it in if you want music today.
So she did.

We're just more of a visual person, than a word person.

Inspiration for today's poetry corner challenge was hard to find, I struggled with it.  Perhaps because I'm far more of a mountain and woodsy person than a beach person!  And couldn't resist a little photoshopping to supplement our sarcastic poem.
Also this picture was very familiar (either photographer or artist?) and though she searched the internet for it had no success finding it and was very frustrated!!!
One thing of interest was the radio on the sand.  It was eerily familiar to the one that sat in my Mom & Dad's living room bookcase in the home where I grew up.  Of course, we have no photo of it ~ but memory reminds me of all of us sitting round on Sunday evenings as Jack Benny assisted by Rochester would enter his "vault" and the creepy sound effects as he went down, down, down are still with me to this day, as is the image of that old radio.  Of course, it was plugged in!  No one was ever shocked or electrocuted, electrical things near water are not a good idea actually [trust the the girl in the red dress did not get shocked when photoshopped].

On a more serious note, we are thankful today for having read the touching and very beautiful poem written by Lady Mew ~ you can read it by visiting Bella Dharma and Lady Mews blog, just click here.
If you have been loved, if you have ever loved, she has told us her love story and it reaches into ones heart.  Thank her for sharing.

  2. Ann I REALLY love this....including the addition of the electrical outlet (!!). I thought this was a great photo or painting (I think it's a painting...) and will see what I can find out. Sometimes I pursue the origins and other times I just think it's an amazing bit of art no matter what. Thanks for "playing poetry" with us!

    1. All that floated in my head was: She is mysterious. I am curious. Does music play? An enigma.

  15. I love your addition! She looks so pale. Did she lose her life in the sea and waits until her true love can join her?
