BLUE JEAN BABY
I've often commented about little June not being much of a lap cat ... it's still true!
While crawling around on the floor in search of toy springs, jingle balls
and furry mousies before Mr Dyson does his job,
then plopping myself over before attempting the "get up now move",
not an easy one for old bones ...
Well, guess what? This little kitty decides the lap on the floor looks interesting!
So, on the floor it is! I will stay, we will play!
Under. Over. Jump the knees! Nip at the toes.
It's all whole new day with this "blue jean baby".
[to be repeated, if I can get down on the floor that is, and back up again!]
you have your own entertainer, no need for TV or movies, just you and your Blue Jeans Girl... so precious. are you home now?
ReplyDeleteYes ... am home ...
DeleteEverything has to start somewhere and if she learns that the lap on the floor is good, maybe eventually it will transfer to the lap on a chair? Cats are tough nuts to crack!
ReplyDeleteAww! What a lovely cute photo heheh!
ReplyDeleteHave a very Happytastic New Year 🍾
You're very cute, June. Mommy gets down on the floor for Lexy because she's definitely not a lap cat.
ReplyDeleteSweet June, you Mom was floored by the turn of events!
ReplyDeleteMaybe as little Miss June matures a bit more she will eventually enjoy a bit of lap time. At least you can enjoy the close contact on the floor...as long as you can get yourself up.
ReplyDeleteJune you are hilarious and full of surprises. Brian said it the best!!

Junes loves mom. We all know that. What a cute shot. I'm with you on the getting back up. That's the hardest part.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Scritches to June. ♥
Ava is the same way, Ann. She and I have lap time on the floor every day. Of course, then I have to get up off the floor. Ha ha.
ReplyDeleteMom's tip for you is always make sure there is something solid to hold on to when you get up (not that she learned that from experience MOL)
ReplyDeleteThat's sweet. Not all kitties are lap cats; neither Annie nor Nicki was. That's purrfectly okay! The biped saw a recent quote in her Pinterest feed, to the effect of "Don't get down on the floor unless you have a plan to get back up!" Yep, that about sums it up!

Great photo! You look super cute June. And I, Marv, am NOT a lap cat either! (Don't touch me Mom! I'll BITE!)
ReplyDeleteMy dogs always love when I get down on the floor. I guess they think I'm entering their territory and want to play.
ReplyDeleteAwww, such joyful moments! Floki cat is not a lap cat either so when he allows me once in a blue moon to put him on my lap while he tolerates me petting him I feel so good. Secretly, I think he likes it, too!
ReplyDeleteFloor time...is quality time...well at least for June!
ReplyDeleteMaybe make sure a sturdy chair is nearby to use as a get-up-helper...
When hubby fell down, (over a year ago...), we had him get on his hands and knees, that made it much easier for him to get upright again.
Always be sure to sit down on the floor near a sturdy piece of furniture so you can lever yourself back up again. (speaking from experience)
ReplyDeleteI love that song; haven't thought of it in years. June's pupils are fully dilated so she must be readying to pounce. How could she be any cuter? Of course, me and floors don't mix, so kudos to you if you can still get down with it (and up again)!
ReplyDeleteJune is so cute! I have the same problem getting back up and when I do have to, I resemble a crab!
ReplyDeleteYou two are such a cute pair!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about hoping to get back up when getting on the floor. :) XO
ReplyDeleteThe floor does seem to be much lower than it used to me, right?
ReplyDeleteIt’s all about location. :)
ReplyDeleteOnce you get to "an age," you don't get down without a plan on how to get back up. Hope you can get a plan in place and so get down there to play often.
