We saw your question about Ava's nickname, "The P," so here goes. When Ava was at the shelter, and when she first came home, she never vocalized. She had been kept in the attic at her former home, without a whole lot of interaction. So we think she just didn't really know how to meow, or never had the need to do so.a Sad. Anyway, after a little while with us, she began "talking" a bit, but it was almost like a kind of a birdlike chirping. Sort of like, "peep peep peep." So we started calling her Peepee Cat. Flash forward to now, and she has definitely found her voice -- she has so many vocalizations (including genuine meows!), so although her nickname doesn't really fit anymore, she will always be The P to us. :)
Keeping cool, June?
