WHISKERS WEDNESDAY

 DO YOU SAVE KITTY WHISKERS?

  1. I saw a tv show about 20 years ago that featured a woman who saved her cat’s whiskers, and I thought “woah that’s odd!” However I started paying attention and keeping an eye out for my cat’s whiskers and I found myself doing the same thing. I’ve been on disability since I was 18 and being home all the time, I took notice of all the kittens and cats that were in need where I lived and began getting them spayed/neutered, chipped and vaccinated and taking in and treating ones that needed medical attention. The cats I have saved truly have saved me and I feel a connection to them through all their whiskers I’ve kept. You can imagine after 20 years how many I have! I keep them all in a keepsake box and they’re put in a special place with my kitties urns that are at rainbow bridge.

    1. It seems you have no blog or email through which I can reply to you, so I hope you see this note ~ just a simple thank you for caring for and loving so many kitties over the years. Keep up the good work, applause ... appaws!

  3. I have so many whiskers off of Precious it's not funny. And her with dark gray whiskers I don't know how I'm lucky enough to find them on the crazy Brown speckled carpet that we have. I always save them off of Seney and when I did a cross stitch of her from a photo I sewed the whiskers into the picture.

  5. Nope. We don't ever see them lying around. Most likely they are on the carpet or something.

  6. I never saved any kitty whiskers back in the day. I did have an ample supply of cat hair all over the place though.

  8. That's a lot of whiskers you've lost, June. We hope they all grew back. None of our whiskers have been saved. They probably all ended up in the vacuum.

  10. Yes I have whiskers, and fur and nail sheaths. I should have saved their baby teeth too as they kept falling out in and beside their toy box which they teethed on. I keep everything in a little wooden cat shaped box.
