Many of you know and remember our dear friend Linda Colon.
Linda was the creator and published of Our Rainbow Friends from
January 2012 through January 2025, dedicating thirteen years to remembering
all our pets who had crossed their Rainbow Bridge.
And she has had, for many years her own blog, DaWeenies of Florida,
though is not currently posting.
Recently, her dear little pup, Shelby, had serious health issues and was found
to have a large tumor located hear her lungs. Shelby already suffered from a
heart murmur and at age 13, surgery was considered high risk.
But without surgery, the prognosis was fatal.
On Tuesday, her excellent vet and his team opened her chest, going in through
her rib cage and successfully removed the entire tumor. A tube was inserted
to drain fluids and she spent the following days at the vet for observation.
This "fighting the good fight" little lady is now resting comfortably at home and
will have a recovery time of at least two weeks. Her loving family, and
pupper siblings are watching carefully over her. Mom Linda will sure appreciate
the Power of the Paw for Shelby and your caring words and thoughts.
Linda will be visiting here to read any and all comments left for Shelby, thank you!
Shelby is so lovely, enjoy your puffy bed

ReplyDeleteI just have no words to express how thankful I am to all of you for this outpouring of love and support. Shelby is doing quite well considering she has at least a 7-inch incision running down the side of her body to just under her right "armpit". Also a "hole" in her side where the drain tube was placed for 24 hours following the surgery. Her pain meds are keeping her comfortable and sleeping a lot but her appetite is great and she is getting around pretty good for an old gal with a 7-inch zipper. Again, thank you to all. From Linda and Shelby.
ReplyDeleteWhat a big little fighter. Sending lots of prayers.
ReplyDeleteSedning purrs and prayers for a speedy recovery!
