When mine Mommy pulled our box of holiday decorations
from the top shelf of one closet not long ago,
in it of course was the "Merry Basket".
For awhile, she purr-mitted me to play with it, I'd put a few toys in,
then take a few toys out.
Then the day came, when she said, "Juney, no more Merry Basket play",
and so I had to take all my toys out and put them away.
I'm a good kitty girl. Especially in December!
So now the Merry Basket is empty ...
It sits on a shelf. Soon it won't be empty.
We will fill it with cards from family and friends near and far.
I might not be all that good 'cause I might tip it over once in awhile
to look at the purrty cards ...
many have pictures of my kitty and woofie furriends!
Many have pictures of Santy Paws.
Whatever pictures may be on the cards, they are all wonderful.
Tomorrow, December 9 is Christmas Card day.
Me and mine Mommy will mail our cards to you and you and you,
and here on my bloggie we will also post another card ...
for you and you and you ...
meowz.

that basket has the right name ,O)
ReplyDeleteI hope you get lots and lots of cards to fill the Merry basket and maybe in January, you can have the basket back, Juney!
ReplyDeleteTis a beautiful Merry Basket and I know you love the cards as much as the toys and that the toys are merely
ReplyDeletemoved to another place for now..
Your Merry basket is really cute and we are glad you got to use it for toys for a little while at least. Hope you get lots of great cards this year. We haven't sent cards for several years now and this year we had no time to think about anything like that with being gone a lot and Mom's work being super busy. Mom does miss getting and sending cards, maybe another year she will give it a try again.
ReplyDeleteJuney, I am sorry you lost your play basket. It is a pretty Christmas basket.
ReplyDeleteTake care, have a wonderful week ahead.
What a nice Merry basket, June! I did love to send and receive cards, but have become unable to do it now. It's a fun part of the holidays!
ReplyDeleteWe bet that Merry basket is fun to play with (and maybe nap in)! We are all ready for Christmas Card Day!
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
That's what baskets are for, June...to knock over!
ReplyDeleteWell, that is what Da Boyz tell me, anyhow.
What a cute basket you have for your Christmas cards, June. I have my ribbons hung up ready to put all my cards on too.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely basket, June. I hope it gets filled with cards from friends near and far.
ReplyDeleteI am going to be a couple days late mailing my cards. I did get the international ones out today though. XO
ReplyDeleteThat's the purrfect place to keep your pretty cards :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm, our Mommy just taped our cards to the top part of the fireplace. Maybe it's so we don't tip the card basket, BOL!
ReplyDeleteYou are so organized Junie. Our Mom has the sads and doesn't get much done. We do have a few Christmas things out.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a pretty card basket. I hope it gets full!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to haver a Merry Basket! Somewhere in a big box we have a Merry Snowman who serves the same for us. Since sending out our ecard, I haven't had much time to go visiting...let alone to look at all my emails...right now I have over 80 unread messages from blogville...I will get there, B & D will growl loudly if I don't, LOL!
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "That is a cute idea for a basket to store your cards! Although our Dada is asking if there is a Pippin basket to go with it."
ReplyDeleteChaplin: "What do apples have to do with Christmas cards?"
Charlee: "I have no idea, but you know how Dada is with those non sequiturs ..."
