SUNDAY ART GALLERY

For everyone using Photoshop... this can be a fun exercise. Working WITHOUT a photo... just creating colors and shapes using the many tools and filters. These are all fairly elementary, but it is a new area for Zoolatry... and we are just experimenting. Each picture below was "created" from the first picture above.
The picture below became a kaleidoscope from the picture above, adding more filters and shapes to create a maze of sorts.
Moving back to the first picture, using tools to twist and zigzag the color, then adding pencil lines... as the twisted shapes seem to resemble fish... we used the pencil
and lasso to make whiskers and ears.

And fish belong in a fish tank... so we made one of those.

Then along came Zoey.

Zoey! Get your paws out of that fish tank!

SATURDAY SHOPPING

Oh dear... the Zoolatry Human sent me to the market... she wants grocery foods she says. They are having lots of company on New Years Day. I wonder if the human guests would like tuna 'n tempations -- or am I at the wrong market?

GIRL WITH THE GOLDEN EARS

Sorry, no frootbat ears here... truth be told, these ears are a bit on the smallish side. But the Zoolatry Human likes to scritch 'n scratch them for me just the same (and I will admit to liking that, too), and she calls them my "ears of gold"... cause I have this golden fur on each of them, which of course, compliments the white star on my forehead.
Fashion or Frootbat?

CHRISTMAS - OR - BIRTHDAY?

Look Maggy... they left some more presents under the tree, let's up-open them!
No Zoey... those might be for dadbeans big birthday tomorrow.
Well how come they're in Christmas wrappers?
Cause I guess the Zoolatry Human just used all the leftyovers... besides, you know how all these beans who have birthdays next to Christmas get the short end of the stick.
Well then... let's ask EVERYCAT and EVERYONE in the CB to stop over where he lives and give him a bigbigpurrthday wish...
or better yet, lets ask them to leave 60 wishes for him...
Sssh, Zoey, do you really think he wants everyone to know it's the big nifty sixty?
DADBEAN IS 60... at CAT IN THE BAG!

CHRISTMAS MEMORIES

Once upon a time, little beagle Chessie lived with our family. They tell us she was here for more than 17 years. A little memory of her welcomes those who come to the front door. Christmas is a good time to remember those who once shared our days... and filled our lives.
They don't know I can get up on the plant ledges -- I only do it after everyone's gone to sleep. Last night I went up to get a good look at the tree. I was told it's a "memory tree", every year our mom and dad have been together, dad gets a little bear ornament. And now they've been together "like forever" so it's all covered with bears! (How come not cats?)
On their very first Christmas together they had a little tree, but couldn't afford to buy any ornaments. So mom took the little raggedy ann puppet from the baby's room and stuck it up on top and it's been there every year since!

Christmas is a time for remembering many things.
Treasure your own Christmas memories.

THURSDAY THIRTEEN

Maybe if there are more of me, I'll get more treats from Santa!

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

I'm glad it's Wordless Wednesday, cause I'm still tired from my decorating duties... so I don't have to say much today. Just the same, here I am: WAITING for Santa... WANDERING into closets and under beds looking for my presents... WONDERING when he'll arrive... WISHING for lots of treats... WANTING Christmas to come soon...
As usual, I shall sleep.

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS, ALL AROUND THE HOUSE

Yesterday, the Zoolatry Human told you she had found the Christmas spirit, but I want you to know I did most of the work! I put the wreath and poinsettia at the front door to welcome my many holiday guests. And my favorite little Santa on the foyer table. And I prettied up the humans eating place, too.
Then I hung stockings for me and Maggy, and our special ornaments on the coat tree... now I call it the cat tree.
Then I hung the human stockings up high (so the cats can't get them... hey, that means me!) (Let's see, did I get them all, 9, right?), and I covered the mantel with more of the humans holiday "stuff". And she has lots of bears, in fact there is at least one bear (given to the male human) for every year they've been married... but I couldn't find all 33 bears; here are just 2 of them.
I do want you to know that neither of these two "furs" (they are fake furs) did any work at all! They were no help to me. But I do thank Maggy for putting things away when I was done... and I went to take a wee bit of a nap in dadbeans office.
To One And All.

THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT

The Christmas Spirit has arrived... it's magic, just like Santa and the Elves, and Rudolph, and twinkling lights, red and green and evergreen. Glimmering candles and mistletoe. Bright boxes with ribbons, and sparkling ornaments and tinsel. No soft falling snow, this is Florida after all... but poinsettia and amaryllis and bowls of candy. Toys hidden away. Stockings stuffed to the top. Wreaths and sweet cinammon smells. For some unknown reason, it must be magic... the Zoolatry Human pulled her head from the beach sand (see the picture is gone...) and the Christmas spirit came forth. She remembered two little precious grandbeans for whom this is a special time... and of course, she has been chastised daily, if not hourly, by the two kitties who live at Zoolatry... not to mention the gentleman in the family, our CocoaBean. So yesterday afternoon out came the boxes, tissue tossed here and there, and bubble wrap to pounce upon... and the mantel got covered, and the stockings got hung, and the wreaths went up, and the candles and candies were set out ... last of all, a little tree (not a big one)... up high where perhaps, some angel will watch over it so the kitties don't bring it down... and the house on Range Road is having Christmas after all! Go away Grinch, so long Scrooge... Christmas Present is here. Bah Humbug? No way!

SUNDAY DECORATING

Gosh, since we got the ornaments out of the box (at least the best ones) and the stockings, too... do you think the Zoolatry Human will reconsider a tree and decorations???

A+ ON CATURDAY

Under the constant and able supervision of Ms. Maggy, Zoey has worked diligently over the last 72-hours to improve her coloring skills. We are all quite proud of her efforts and she gets an A+ today for "staying in the lines". First she colors another picture for the bride and groom (and notice she has learned how to write her name, too!)... then a cartoon of her dadbean over at his blog, Cat In The Bag... and a group picture with the family dawgs. Good work, Zoey!

FRIDAY -- O.C.D.

Hey Maggy: I was up on top of that TV thingy and saw all this "stuff". They're color books I think. But I couldn't find one with my name on it (but then I'm not even 2-years old so don't read too well yet). And on beds and dressers and plant ledges and everywhere I went I found all these other color book pages.

So I had fun coloring some. I did one for the bride, Rebecca and one for the groom, Kaustuv. And I did one for the flower girl, Isabel. Rono's page was already colored in for reasons I do not know. I think he'll be disappointed, because he is traveling all the way from Malaysia and he will be ring bearer and he has never been to the United States or seen all these funny animals we have in Florida. I'd better get the Zoolatry Human to make another color book page for him!

Zoey, you're gonna be in trouble Big Time and the Zoolatry Human is going to activate her O.C.D. (Outrageous Cat Discipline). She's making all these color books just for the little munchkin beans coming to the wedding. And I don't think we are invited! But a word to the wise (which you are not, by the way)... if you're going to color... at least try to stay inside the lines.

WISTFUL THINKING

Sometime, I think, there's got to be
A night that glitters just for me:
A gorgeous, swishing, low-cut gown
For wining, dining on the town.
Exotic perfume on my breast,
A fancy hair-style, all the rest...
With all that's shining in the skies
Reflected in my dazzled eyes.
Before I grow too old to wear
The dress...
The perfume...
Fancy hair.
Today I spent a bit more time reading (on blogs) than picture looking. This poem seemed to reach out and touch me... I hope it may find its way back to the writer, with my thank you bouquet.

THURSDAY THANKFUL-NESS-MESS

Hey, Maggy... do you think if we untangle all these lights that got tangled up last year (I did not do it) we could still get the Zoolatry Human to put up a tree? A tree for me!
Zoey, can't you see I'm resting. Besides my paws 'n toesies are far to delicate to do untangling work. And in case you haven't noticed, the Zoolatry Human still has her head-in-the-sand. Or maybe her head is in that mess on the kitchen table? Remember, she said... I can't do a wedding and do Christmas, too! So now the humans can't even eat at their table (maybe they can eat off a mat on the floor like we do, he-he)... unless it's seashells, and seaglass and baggies they're gonna be eatin.
So, let's just be thankful and you stop being a whiny-baby
or Santa will leave you only a lump of coal.
Let's be thankful for (1) each other, (2) our good beans, (3) great grandma bean and all her toys, (4) nice home and sunshine, (5) grand baby beans even tho they annoy us sometimes, (6) kid beans, (7) all the kitties who come to visit us here, (8) Ms Judi and the Cat Doctor who take such good care of us when we need it, (9) our teacher who just gave us an "A" on our writing assignment, (10) CoCo who has come to live with us,
(11) (12) (13) -- I am going to think and re--think and think again about Number One on this list.

THE GHOSTS OF CHRISTMAS

CHRISTMAS PAST by ZOEY
As my Zoolatry Human still has her head in the sand (scrooge that she is), I decided to share my Christmas Past with you today. December 2006, it was my First Christmas and I was just nine months old and I'd only been at my forever home about two months. So I was still getting to know my beans and my sister Maggy. Here I am checking out a few packages along the fireplace ledge, trying to find the ones for me. Turned out the empty boxes and bags ALL had my name on them, and they were the bestest presents of all.

CHRISTMAS PRESENT by MAGGY

Present? Isn't that speaking of time? Why am I a present, I am not a present. And I think the Zoolatry Human has too much sand on the brain or has been affected by red tide maybe. First she makes us put ornaments on a rubber tree! Now she's putting ornaments on me. Will someone please rescue me from this holiday madness.

CHRISTMAS FUTURE by the ZOOLATRY HUMAN

The children were nestled all snug in their beds... kids or kits, the Zoolatry Human loves 'em all, past, present and future. No bah humbug here.

December 11, 2007

BAH HUMBUG, AGAIN

Hey look Mag, the Zoolatry Human decided to decorate after all!
You call THAT a tree!
I AM NOT A GRINCH! GET THIS HAT OFF ME!
ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS... WAIT A MINUTE, I SEE YOU UP THERE...

MAGGY, YOU ARE A GRINCH!
