STRIPEY SOX SUNDAY

So, Maggy, hows come we're wearing stripey sox?
Zoey, you know the ZH always puts on her
stripey sox when we're gonna
take a blog break, or
when she's got something impawtant to say!
Oh Mags, we can't be taking a break, we just did that!
Then the only thing left Zoey is she's got something to say.
See, she's got her stripey sox on, too.
But Maggy, that's not the ZH in those sox.
That's not her feets! She's gots big feets,
and those are very little feets!
You're right Zo, it's her "stand in" for today.
(note to Wendy: pun intended)
And by the way Zo, gimme my blue & white stripey please.
Mmm, I knew it didn't smell like it was mine...
It's me, the new little kitteh...
and I'm "standing in" for the ZH, even tho
I cannot stand yet, in fact I can't even crawl yet.
What she told me to say was this:
Last week Zoolatry had a contest,
all about what was in your Litter Box.
(I know a lot about what's in my
litter box, it's quite the pampering place.)
Anyway, she said it was her contest and she
made the rules, so she can change the rules.
(change me first, please, gramma...)
Anyway, she was s'posed to
announce the winners today.
But there were so many goodgoodgood
ideas, she's gonna think about it some more
and so we'll announce the
contest winners next Sunday, February, February 7.
And guess what, I get to help "judge"...

PS: note to Eric & Flynn, see guys, the upside down
feets don't always mean we are going away...
PPS: note to Auntie Deb: thank you and big
hugs for the stripey sox that match my
gramma's sox. How cool is that?

PHOTO HUNT: SPOTTED

Maggy is a beautiful torti-point Himalayan with colors of cream and grey, black and brown, and a rich lustrous golden red behind her ears. On her forehead, we call it her shining star ~ a brilliant white spot.

A ZOOLATRY CONTEST

... and while you're thinking on how you'd
create and name your personal litter...
stop by and give a paws-up to
for starting this whole thing...
[and our woofie friends are welcome to
"pretend" they're cats with litter boxes...]

EASY, LIKE SUNDAY

I see Maggy is ready for Sunday bath time,
I hope she won't leave any of her furs in the tub.
I'll just wait her on the bench until the ZH cleans the tub.
I really wouldn't want to get any "maggy" on me.
A little apres bath rest helps the furs to dry well.
Maggy got to the sunny window ledge first for her apres bath rest,
I think the sunshine will make her furs dry quicker than mine.
Tomorrow, our contest will begin. It will end Friday.
Please come by if you can.

PHOTO HUNT: BALANCED

When it is time to do our weekly shopping,
I always remind Zoey
that our list should include a healthy and
BALANCED diet selection of fish, roughage and treats.
As usual ~ there she is, already in the store
filling her cart with
all the jingly balls that are on sale! Sigh!
[I guess the Magster forgot I gave most my
jingly balls to Hansel yesterday...
I must replenish my stock...]

MY BFF ~ HANSEL

Some of you may not know that Hansel is my BFF ~ we are very special friends, in truth, he is my boyfurfriend. (tho it is not possible, sometimes I dream about the cute floofers we might have made together...) Anyway, I digress. And you may not know that Hansel is now suffering from a very rare and complex ailment called "legg perthes". This makes it hard, and painful for him to run and jump and play, which is what we kitties do! He might have to have surgery, and so we should all purr a lot for him. I hope all my kittie and woofie friends will visit and wish him well... at The World of Hansel.
I thought I would visit him, we both have a great love of jingly balls, so I took a basketful of jingly balls and toys for us to play with (and a few nom nom treats, too). Here are some pictures from our visit together...

When I first arrived, we allowed the human to take a portrait picture of us together. One thing I love about Hansel... he knows I am sometimes a bit shy cause of my "toof", so he showed off his wonderful "toofs" to make me feel OK about mine... he is thoughtful that way.

I gathered up about a gazillion jingly balls, and some mousies and other toys for us to play with together... and of course, I hid myself inside the toy basket as a surprise!
Because it is hard for him to run and jump and play, he rested in the basket. Sometimes he would throw the ball, I would chase it and bring it back to him. He is such a dear one.
When it was time for me to go home, Hansel gave me a kiss on the cheek. Isn't he sweet? Please remember to stop by and see him. (Note to Hansel: Purrs 'n nosetaps from me, Zoey.) Click here to visit Hansel.

ANOTHER PURRFECT PRANK

Hey Maggy, what do you see out there?
Get up here and have a look for yourself, Zoey.
But Mags, there isn't any room for me,
I think I might knock a bird house off the ledge,
and then the ZH will get mad.
Oh, go ahead Zoey, you scaredy cat,
it's OK, there is room for you.
OK, if you say so Maggy. . . besides, no one is looking. . .
Maggy, I don't see anything out here!
Zoey, you knocked a bird house onto the floor!
Oh oh. . . but you said there was room for me.

MAGGY MONDAY

Whenever the short people visit,
both kitties generally go into hiding.
Yesterday, however,
Maggy chose to join them for play.
Cats! I sure can't figure 'em out.

THE BACK PORCH

TOP: Maggy and me like our strolls around the back porch.
There are lots of windows and we can see what's going on outside.
That's good, cause we're not allowed in the real outside.
This is a picture the ZH took of me a couple months ago on my porch stroll.
BOTTOM: This is a picture the ZH took of me a couple days
ago on my porch stroll. Oh my cat, look at that:
I GOT LEGS!

PHOTO HUNT: JIGGLY

The ZH and I were talking recently about "how things used to be", which I, of course, do not remember. She said her TV when she was growing up was very tiny and it had only a black and white picture. Can you imagine? Sometimes when the picture was fuzzy and blurry and JIGGLY (which was actually most of the time) it almost looked like it was a color picture. The TVs had "rabbit ears" on top, some wrapped with tin foil. I'm sure if they'd had "cats ears" the TV would have worked much better, but then I wouldn't want any tin foil on my ears. And can you believe this: they only had 3 channels and those went off the air at midnight. And worst of all, you had to actually get up from whatever comfy spot you might be in to change the channels!!! I wonder why humans even bothered to watch TV way way back then. We cats wouldn't be that foolish!

EASY, LIKE SUNDAY

Mom and I were just settling down for a
cozy Sunday afternoon on-the-sofa nap,
then she had to go and wiggle thisaway and thataway
and put her feet and butt right in my face!

PHOTO HUNT: BULKY

When the granddaughter and I went on our first ski trip
last year, she wore a BULKY hat and a BULKY jacket
and BULKY mittens.
I wore a BULKY hat and goggles.
She liked the cable car ride up the mountain.
It scared me, I did not like it...
it made my tummy feel BULKY.
PS: do you ever say or read a word so many times
that it starts to sound quite odd, I am now
finding BULKY to be a very odd word.

A SNOW DAY

Once upon a time we lived in the North ~ feeling the chill in the air, the snow on our noses. Then we traded snow and fir trees for the sun and palm trees of Florida. Once upon a time, some woofies shared our home. Then we traded woofies for "the Zoolatry girls". We sometimes miss the snow, we sometimes miss our woofies. Throughout the past year, we've had the pleasure to meet some grand and glorious woofies, and today we say hello to them ~ please scroll down though... being a "cat blog"... we also post a favorite kitty friend, and though she doesn't live in a snowy place, we've covered her with snowflakes today... if you'd like to visit any of our friends, just click on their name below the photo.

NEW YEAR 'BABY' GAME

It's time for the Happy New Year Baby Game.
FIN celebrated her 13th floofy birthday
on New Years Day,
(and so does her Mom, 'cept hers is not #13 ...
and we won't tell what number it is).
Each year on her birthday,
FIN challenges us to post "baby pictures"...
so we post ours here, and
we send big wishes to FIN & Mom... Happy Happy!
Look Zoey... there's a new little kitteh visiting us.
And he weighs more than you do!
But you both have soft silky kissable furs on top.
Yes, Zoey... we think you'll be a very good babysitter.
No, Zoey... you do not get paid for it.
