ZOEY DOES DENVER

Unbeknownst to my Zoolatry Family, I have been secretly covering the Democratic Convention this past week, and soon I will fly north to cover the Republican Convention. I am planning to win a Purritzer Prize for my journalistic efforts, which have been fair and balanced (oops, that phrase sounds vaguely familiar?). Where can you read my stories you may ask (or maybe you don't ask). Well, my employer of record is "Cat Confidential", so you see, all my reporting must remain confidential (quoting the cliche, what happens in Denver, stays in Denver). As a journalist, it is imperative I remain above-the-fray, that I exercise discretion in my reporting of events, and of course, I must never allow my personal beliefs to infringe upon my responsibility to the American public, and I must never take sides. That is all well and good... however, if you really want to know where my heart lies... just note the next photo.
AND -- if you really want complete convention coverage, just click on over to see what the North Carolina delegation is up to, all this week, at Mosaic Cats.

FINALLY FRIDAY

When life gets a little rough around the edges, I tell the Zoolatry Human to remain pawsitive... all the rain will make some beautiful flowers grow.

ON THE STREET WHERE WE LIVE

Maggy... I guess we don't get to go out for a walk today.
Zoey... not unless you wear your Speedos.

THANKFUL THURSDAY (ALMOST...)

Hey Maggy, I think the Zoolatry Human made a really really big mistake when she said that Tropical Storm Fay had come and gone. It's still here! It got stuck over the Cape.

She sure did make a mistake Zoey, but I'm glad you found our rainbrellas. Though they won't do much good cause it is still super windy.

Did you see all the flooded roads, I don't think she can get out the driveway to go visit the Zoolatry Dad! Dad will be upset for sure.

But Zoey, the hospital is at the beach and it's not very safe over there.

Well, then maybe she'll stay home today and give us lots of treats. Let's just hope they won't all be water logged.

Hey, what's all the stuff in the yard, is she gonna make us to clean up?

And the frogs and the lizards, they're all over the place, by the hundreds... this ought to be fun.

The news people told us it's now 20-inches of rain ... maybe we should just get our ark out of storage...

We would be "thankful" if this could be over soon...

HOW TO DEAL WITH "FAY"

ZOOLATRY NEWS UPDATE

The Zoolatry Human says we'll be gone awhile longer and once again,
she changed the pawsword so we can't post.
If you need or want to take a walk down memory lane with us, you can find all the
Zoolatry Galleries at http://www.kodakgallery.com/. The sign-in-ID is our email address,
zoolatry@gmail.com and the pawsword is mypictures. Then click on "see all albums",
who knows... you might even see yourself in one of the galleries! Though we don't think
the ZH has put up quite all of the pictures yet.
Here's our little breaking news update:
FAY has come and gone, though it continues to be rainy and windy. It is now heading north towards our friends at Life from a Cat's Perspective and Manx Mnews, so wish them well. Our friends to the south and west of us are probably in the recovery mode like we are!
It was kind of scary here yesterday and last night, especially for me (Maggy) cause I do not like storms at all. But we settled down close to the ZH, and got through it. It was a little strange, because we have been home alone since our Daddy is in the hospital, and our Great Grandma was safely settled into a special hospice house for a short time. The Zoolatry Human
will be leaving us soon for the day to brave the winds and rain and flooded roads and
go spend some time visiting with them both.
We've been very worried too about our kid-beans: two of them are news reporters and they've been out in the "thick of it all" and that gets scary. And the other kid-beans and grandbeans
are in FAY's path today. So, it's not quite over yet...
The only really good news is that we think we've found our little ferals, Annie and Charlie. They went missing on Sunday, August 10. Both our humans had been very sad ever since (why? they have us!). The Zoolatry Dad even wanted to postpone his surgery cause he wanted to wait until they returned! Well, last night, in the midst of this awful storm -- a lady called (she had seen the poster the ZH had put up nearby) and the kittens have been staying near her house!
Our beans were very very happy to know they are safe.
Once the storm is truly over and our Dad and GreatGrandma are back home, the ZH hopes to go there and trap them and bring them back to Zoolatry... permanently, she says!
So, now the ZH must go find what she calls her rainbrella and get going for the day.
We're not quite sure when we'll be back... but hope you'll not give up on us just yet!
Stay safe, all our Florida Friends!
Bye now... from Maggy and Zoey.

I'LL BE SEEING YOU

I'll be seeing you, in every lovely, summer's day;
And everything that's bright and gay; I'll always think of you that way;
I'll find you in the morning sun; And when the night is new;
I'll be looking at the moon; But I'll be seeing you.

IN MEMORY OF

Some make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon.
They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts
and we are never, ever the same.
Anonymous

None of us are free of loss. All of us have experienced the loss of ones who held a special place in our lives and in our hearts. Our families, our friends, our beloved animal companions. They may no longer be part of our daily lives, but they are always within our hearts.

Pause now and remember.

Maggy and Zoey and the Zoolatry Human
will be gone for a short while, for time to restore the spirit,
refresh the mind and soul.

THURSDAY THIRTEEN: MAGGY & ZOEY DO THEIR "NEEDS" MEME

Someone tagged us for the Needs Meme (but the Zoolatry Human forgot who that was...), so we went on the internet and gave it a try... so here are thirteen needs we found there:
ZOEY, ZOEY, ZOEY ~
Sexy Zoey needs some real friends... well, not so sure about the sexy part, and she's got lots and lots of friends around the CB.
Zoey is a little princess, all she needs is a crown... I wonder if HRH Yao-Lin would allow me to borrow one.
Awww those eyes are so persuasive... looks like Zoey needs a hug!... well, I will permit the occassional hug, just make it a quick one, and put me down, please!
Little Zoey needs her bossy little butt corrected... it's quite obvious, this comment was found, chosen and published by Maggy.
Luckily, little Zoey's got enough spunk and charm to win over just about everyone she meets. And she's gonna need that as one of the first girls in... oh, oh, why didn't the ZH include the rest of this... in what? First girls in what?
Zoey is a jerk. She needs to learn how to act cool. Another rather obvious choice by Maggy.
Everyone needs a little Zoey. Absolutely, without a doubt, for sure!
MAGGY, MAGGY, MAGGY ~
Since Maggy is using less electricity and oil, less fossil fuel needs to be burned. Her energy efficiency measures have reduced global warming... way to go Maggy girl.
That's all she needs for her day to be a success. Maggy's position isn't exactly clear, no one seems to know what she does all day... well, she does sleep a great deal, though never on the job, unless it's a very brief cat nap.
In order to pursue her dream of becoming a counselor, Maggy needs a new computer. As someone who's been there, Maggy wants to help those who... oh, now we know what her position is and what she does all day.
Maggy says: "we try to give them all the information they need to get the best out of life." Of course, that's what counselors do.
Maggy's back. Whether that's good or bad, I'm not sure. I just know that when Maggy needs to talk she does it best when talking to the world... yeah, talk, talk, chatter, chatter, that's our Maggy. Aren't counselors supposed to be listening?
I need a Maggy cat part number 04+. What? My Maggy needs no new parts, she is perfect just exactly as she is!

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

With sincere apologies to Trixie and to Top Cat Rules. The Zoolatry Human just checked her blog around mid-day today and realized she had scheduled the 1st version on a post for today; not the 2nd version as she intended to do. The earlier version had only our picture above.
We wanted to show the origin of the picture -- a beautiful scrapbook page of Trixie,
posted a short time ago on Top Cat Rules. We borrowed that posting (seen below) and rotated, removed, added and manipulated via photoshop to creat the new picture above.
It's only right to credit the original -- so thank you, Ms Leslie!

OPTI-CAT APPOINTMENT

Last week I went to Dr Opti-Cat with the Zoolatry Human. She said sometimes she sees way too many of me (how can that be?). Other times she says I am way too fuzzy in the middle (gee, I'm fuzzy all over!). The doctor says she has early cat-a-racts. I said, "oh no... we're not having any more cats in our house... on racks or otherwise!"
I got my eyes examined, too. Is 1 better than 2? 1 or 2? 2 or 1?
The Zoolatry Human says why do they always use the same letters,
she memorized those letters on the chart when
she was 6-years-old and that was at least century ago.

They use drops to biggify your eyes. I think this magnifier glass does the same thing. I tried on lots of contact lenses (I'm too vain for glasses... at least not yet!). The green ones make me look jealous. The yellow ones make me look bright and cheerful. The red ones make me look angry, and I am never angry. Later my eyes felt quite blank and empty! Later than that, my eyes were once again the "baby blues" that twinkle and shine. I decided not to get contacts.
I think I'll stay with my Elton John Yellow Brick Road Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me Benny and The Jets spectaculars with just a hint of a tint of royal purple.

PHOTO HUNT: DARK

How appropriate that todays Photo Hunt is "Dark"...
it was a rather dark week at Zoolatry.
And we found three photos in our files that seem to fit.
Please scroll down for a Double Feature of
High Five Saturday.
