MAGGY: I'm happy to go on a little break.  You know I don't like my

pikshur taken anyways.  And I've enough vanity that I often do not

like the pictures she does show of me.  So, break time is fine by me!

ZOEY:  But why?  C'mon, ZH... you know I'm a show-off and

I love my blog.  I don't want to be gone.  I'm going to whine,

and meow, and squeak until we come back again.

That'll teach you! And besides, I want that polka-dot suitcase!

THE ZOOLATRY HUMAN: Stop being fussybutts, you two.

We've got some other kitties bloggie work to do,

and we want to work on Cat Talk Time stuff,

and just so everyone knows ... in September

there's some FUN EVENTS coming up for The Cat Blogosphere

and we need to get some things ready for those ...

Oh, and Zoey... you know the polka dot suitcase belongs to

Maggy, so stop with the sibling stuff.

so we are setting aside

today ONLY for visiting everyone else. 

So nokitty and nowoo has to visit us today,

and nokitty and nowoo

    has to comment on this blog today.

But before we leave, we'd like to also say that we are

keeping paws crossed that all will be well for

Sammy, Andy and Shelley ... and for ALL our friends who

are facing hard times.

Hi, Zoey here ~ I've never thought my ZH was particularly good with "words".  Most often she speaks for us through "pik-shurs".  Now, don't tell anyone, but did you know, she even had to email a friend not too long ago and ask, "what does MOL mean?"  I mean talk about Embarrassment with a Capital E.  So Maggy 'n me figured if we asked all our friends for their favorite, their special and unusual "cat talk", well, maybe she'd learn something!  Maybe.  And then I had a really good thought.  I'm going to put all the "cat talk" words in a basket and I'll either pick my favorites, or if we can figure out the "vote thingy" we'll let everyone vote for their favorites.  And I'll have the ZH make special "pik-shurs" for the top three vote-getters, or winners! So, tell us yours ... go ahead, you can MOL, cause now we know what it means!

Sometimes, when you plan to have a happy and fun filled day,

sad things happen that you didn't plan for.  Today is that kind of day.

So, so many years ago when we first became cat bloggers, we met the beautiful

and wonderful and loving Miss Peach.  She lived in the cozy cottage with her

mom Karla and her Lap-Daddy.  We have shared many good times

with all of them.  And now we share the sadness of their hearts.

Farewell to Miss Peach, you are forever loved.

CAT TALK TIME

Cats are very expressive.  And in our years of pet blogging, we've found that their humans are very expressive, too!  So we're putting out a challenge to one and all, just a furry-fun event, for Tuesday August 23 ~ on your blog, just post your favorite, clever, old, new, unusual, humorous cat talk.  We were recently introduced to some new cat talk ~ "whisker humps".  Of course, there's "tail wags", and "chin scritches" and so many more.  And when it comes to the humans, well ... we've heard beans, and bipeds, and food purrsons.  And let's not forget the famous MOL.  So, that's the Cat Talk Time Challenge ~ get wordy, creatively wordy ~ and if you can show a photo that goes with your "talk", that's even better!  No prizes, no awards, just a wholelotta fun.  [P.S. if you have time to stop in here at Zoolatry, and leave a comment with your cat talk time words, Maggy and Zoey are thinking of picking their top three favorites and challenging the ZH to create a "photoart picture" of each.  MOL, she might even create a Cat Blogosphere Pictionary! (1) I sure hope that tail does a bit of dusting up there, one less chore for me today.
(2) If I could sleep like that, life would be purrfect.

(3) If I had one more of these, I'd have a nice pair of bookends.

P.S.  with apawlogies to our friends Sage and Fizz.  We'd intended to post
pictures of them for Friends Friday, but the ZH has "lost" the pictures... maybe
they're in one of those closets she was cleaning ... we'll just have to look harder
and maybe we can show them for the next FF.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

I've noticed that when the little "grand-kitty" is here,

he always manages to find some new toys.  You know I love toys!

I think that's because he has thumbs and they work quite well now

and he can open closet doors.  I don't have thumbs!

Sometimes there are treasures hiding in the closets. 

This morning he found this ball. 

I mean this really, really B-I-G ball. 

I'll be thankful when he goes home and I can have a chance to play

with this really, really B-I-G ball!

WEDNESDAY WHEELS

While on break, the ZH decided to do some "clean up closet" time.  She found this stroller, and this walker.  Generations apart, mmm!  Time for a yard sale, or off to charity.  But wait!  Look here.  Two cats appear to be interested.  Speaking of interested,

interesting that the young and silly cat chose the stroller while

the older and more mature cat found the walker to be just right.

A CAT BASKET

If I went around the house, I would likely see one or two baskets in every room.

Some are large.  Some are medium.  Some are small.

Some are empty.  Some are full.

This is a small basket, but it is full.

I really can't quite figure out how Zoey managed to stuff her fluffy and fairly

large butt into this rather small basket.

Guess it's just proof that where there's a will there's a way ...

THE ADVENTURES OF ZOEY-PAWS SAWYER

Once upon a time, in the 1800s, I lived in a little village called St. Petersburg,

in Missouri, on the banks of the Mississippi River.

My cousin was named MagCat Sawyer, and she was known to be the

village "bad cat".  At times, I could be mischievous too.

Once when MagCat was especially naughty, our

Aunt PollyPurrs said she had to whitewash the fence as her punishment.

But instead, MagCat got together with her really wicked whiskered

friend, HuckFurrocious Finn.  They stole an old dinghy and drifted away

down river in search of feline adventures.

I didn't want MagCat to be in more trouble whenever she came home,

so I went off to Aunt PollyPurrs house to whitewash her fence.

Purrhaps I got a bit carried away that day.

But then I am a colorful cat.

And I prefer a colorfully painted fence!
