THE SOLDIER

is the author of this poem, said to hang in The Pentagon, Arlington, VA, without retribution.
Although there are several variations in circulation, the above was
copyrighted by Mr. Province in 1970.

All faiths, nationalities, ages, genders and even many not considered able-bodied have given hearts, souls and lives to serve for us ~ each of us ~ past and present.  Is there one who cannot name a veteran loved and lost, family or friend?  As you celebrate today, or shop the usual sales and events, or attend a parade ~ take time to say a quiet prayer, to say thank you, to remember.  And tomorrow do the same ~ for sadly it continues.  And please also remember the thirteen young soldiers who most recently gave their lives in the foolish and unnecessary Iran War started by and continued by a craven and irresponsible man-child ego driven president and his go along get along administration and congress.
