LITTLE CHRISTMAS ~

It's Little Christmas today.  For many, the official end of holiday time.  Me and mine Mommy have put all holiday things away now, but choose today to say THANK YOU to all my pawing-friends and their peoples who made our season happy 'n' bright for days and days and days!  THANK YOU for the many beautiful cards by email and I'd even get so excited each day when she'd go down to collect our mail by post.  (most were usually for me!!)

A little confession about my cards by post ~ there was a day when I pawed them out of the Merry Box, just being curious, and admittedly chewed on a few.  And then another day when mine Mommy wanted to take pictures of them and lay them out so nicely on the table ~ well, I jumped up on the table and kept knocking them off (it was fun!!) so she couldn't take pictures.  I guess I'm already on the naughty-list for next year ... so she just had to write a list for all of those, sorry.  

Anyway, I am thankful for all, and mine Mommy is thankful for all ... love, June and her Mommy.

 

THANKFUL THURSDAY ?

Seriously?  I'm s'posed to be thankful that Christmas is over.
Like how many days til Christmas?  
3+hundred-bazillion.  I'm not so very thankful about that.

Can I at least keep my hat on for a few more days?

WAITING FOR SANTA ~ CATURDAY ART

I guess there were a lot of different places I could choose to camp out and wait for Santa ~ 
I chose my tent, and mine Mommy was okay with that.  
She was okay with my decorating it up, too.

She found some red 'n' green markers to color the tent, I was very

careful not to get colors on the carpet.

I tried, but I couldn't put up my lights, little kitties can't go near electric stuff she said.

And to make mine Mommy real happy, I made a red-and-white stripey ornament 

from some extra paper I accidently tore from the corner of my tent!

One of my blue and white polka dot balls had fallen down from the

bookshelf, it was under the chair, but I just left it there ~ and

ohmycat, my polka dot Easter egg was under the chair, too ~ 

I guess I forgot to put it away many months ago!

And last, I found my little sparkly blue tree from the doll house

I used to play with when I was just a wee little kitty girl,

it adds a nice Christmas touch I think.

Treats for Santa, treats for his dear deer.

I am ready.  I am waiting.

I'm going to stay wide awake, Santa.

MY HOLIDAY ALBUM, The Third Year, by June

The last two Fridays, I've opened up my Holiday Album and shared my first two years ~ today I open up to the pages of my third year, which just happens to also be last year, 2022.  It was all-out and all-over with polka dots fur sure.  And last year a new little kitty-friend came to live with me, JuneToo.  (thank you, Miss Sue)  JuneToo and I shared much fun throughout the year.  And mine Mommy had me take "time out" here and there so we could highlight our Angels Maggy and Zoey, and the wonderful grandpets Dougie Dog, Chewy, Fiona and Xander.  And our most special friend, dear Pip, who left us to become an Angel.

This year, 2023 certainly has been quite the year: ups and downs, goods and bads, happies and sads.  And upside-down world for sure.  I wonder what we'll be able to put in my album at the end of next year ... I wonder what the coming year will bring, for all of us, I will keep hoping, with paws together, it's about all a little kitty can do.

THANKFUL THURSDAY ~ and more

I don't think you even knew there was a Part 2!  Or maybe you didn't see Part 1 here.  So, right after I found this new spot to sit, mine Mommy took her keys and went out to do errands.  I was most interested in that purrty red Merry-box above (we cats do love boxes) and so I jumped up and "oh noes", I did knock it down to the floor!  But that was a good thing, cause out tumbled all these wonderful cards, all pretty, sparkly, Christmasy, and so so many had kitty cats and many had woofy-barkers.  I spent a lot of time pawing through the Merry-box and guess what?  Most of these were for ME!  I was so thankful *, I am still thankful *.

* and when mine Mommy came home from those errands, we talked about this and she 'splained, yes, and there's even more (for me, of course) on her our computer, she said, and lots of emails and holiday bloggie posts that I we haven't visited for a lot of days, but she purromised she'd take me visiting friends real soon, so I is super sorry, cause I have big thankfuls * for all of you, today and every day and always

~ and it is the Winter Solstice today, I hope it snows, snow is purrty ~

THE SITTABLE SHELF

This table has three boxes on its middle shelf, they are always there.  But suddenly this morning, mine Mommy took away one box, I guess to sort through it for one reason or another.  It really doesn't matter why she took that box away, it left an empty spot on the shelf, and I've heard that "an empty space abhors a vacuum" (meow), so of course I went to see if this was a sittable shelf.  A new spot for me.  It was.  Merry Happy Tuesday.

AWWW MONDAY ~ THE MONTAGE

So, mine Mommy was busy at her laptop, said she was making a Christmas montage of me.  Once done, I took a look at it, meowing "awww, that's quite nice ... but seriously, it's not really me ...".  So, she agreed I could have a turn at making my own.  After all, having been in kittengarten for nearly a year now (well at least a semester), I am taking some art and computer classes and even though I've no thumbs I do try.  

I might put a few finishing touches on my montage later today before giving to my teacher later this week.  Right now though, wondering if I might ask your opinion?  Both are below.  Mine Mommy's is A (the first one) and mine is B (the second one).  Which one do you think really tells the story of me, June, the polka dot kitty? Will my teacher give me a good grade?

SPARKLE-and-SHINE Caturday Art

I really didn't want a costume.  I really didn't want another Santy hat.  And no red boots on my paws, please.  I didn't want to carry a bag of toys alongside me.  But I had received an invitation to the Pet Party and Parade in our building ~ this evening ~ a lively gathering of all the kits and pups who live here, and what fun it might be to join them all.  

Some punch (only lightly spiked of course, nip for we kitties ~ I'm not sure what gets the puppers going) ... treats and chew bones on each table (or maybe on the floor?).  Surely there will be paw-stomping music and lots of tails raised and wagging.  

A few slobbery kisses, at least between those familiar to one another.  Oh yeah.  I'm looking at you, you 9th floor tuxie 💙!

So.  Mine Mommy splurged at the spa nearby for a special sparkle-and-shine makeup treatment, subtle, understated, elegant I think.  

MY HOLIDAY ALBUM, The Second Year, by June

Last Friday, I shared with you the holiday pages from "the first year, 2020" of my special photo album.  

Today, I open it up to pages from the year 2021.

That was the year I became official ~ officially the "polka dot kitty".

Yes, like it or not, red-and-white stripes [mine Mommy's thing] were not for me.

It's blue for me, and preferably blue with white dots.  

Here, there, everywhere please. So it was, so it shall be!

today is also National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day.

Mine Mommy could not resist, and of course, went over the top,

(or better said ... went to the very bottom ...)

by putting me in these totally dreadful sox as well.

While mine Mommy was 'hustling and bustling' around, 

doing all the things she seems to do every evening, 

I sat quietly in my window rounder enjoying the city night lights.

When she wasn't paying attention to me,

I got a magic marker from my toy basket and left

an important message for Santy.

Then I went to bed.

UP ON THE SHELF

 I told mine Mommy I could be the cutest "elf on a shelf" ever ever ever.

For some reason I do not understand at all,

she opted for greenery, red berries and a smelly old candle!
