What's a really good way to spend the day after the day after?  
For the pet friends out there who might remember DOUGIE DOG ...

well, a great way was to have him curled up on my lap.  
The bonus, the grandboy curled up beside us.  
And the three of us, well, just cuddling and enjoying being together.

 

THE GREATEST GIFT

 ~ today may peace and love fill you up ~ 

until your heart and soul are overflowing,

and then give much of it to others

when you face those difficult times ahead,

reach back to restore your inner peace and that love

find it again, feel it again and give it again, 

to others

for the greatest gift comes from within you

they are so cold, and they are so scared

they cannot rest

for bellies complain

and every part hurts

they are here nearby, and far away

so pass by my door

do not come here today

go to our leaders, the ones in charge

BANG BEAT POUND on their doors

if you choose, leave packages 'neath their trees

filled with empathy and understanding

YES, leave boxes 'neath their trees

overflowing with compassion

stockings hung on fireplaces

nearly falling down 

so heavy with good, common sense,

hope for tomorrow,

dignity for all
