July 11 was All American Pet Photo Day. We didn't post on that Saturday, so this is a delayed showing of our favorites ~ choosing to do a simple montage of each of our special pets: Dougie Dog, Angel Zoey and Angel Maggy.  Photos we think highlight them best and show their character and beauty ... photos that are un-altered, but simply cropped and arranged.

We often posted over the years that Angel Maggy and silly Zoey did not get on together all that well.

Friendly "frenimies" they seemed to be ~ keeping their distance from one another, quite territorial

in most ways.  Never ever cuddling.  A little hissing, a little swatting.  No real fighting though.

So it was a rare occasion to catch a photograph of them anywhere near one another ...

here, as a "flashback" and for Feline Friday, a collection of those few photos caught over time!

CURIOUS CATS

Top and middle photos ~ Zoey would always climb into the open drawers of Poppy Vic's desk, or check out the file cabinet drawers if open.  Usually not a problem ... she defined the word "curiosity" when it came to cats, and of course, when he was working in his office she was always there with him.

Bottom photo ~ well, that's a whole 'nother story!  You have those days when you can't find your kitty and and panic sets in as you search the whole house.  It was a day like that with Angel Maggy.  Until we finally heard the faint meow coming from Poppy Vic's office.  The file cabinet was closed ... but on opening, there she was!  Trapped behind the bottom drawer!  How she got in there was never known.  No amount of teasing, treat offering or cajoling would get her out ... and ultimately, it required disassembling the entire cabinet in order to free her!  Needless to say, the cabinet was always kept closed thereafter ...

CATURDAY ART ~ Needlepoint Art

Sometime ago, for Caturday Art we created this image of Maggy and Zoey and named it "Needlepoint Art".

It was fun to do, albeit challenging ~ finding it in old photo files, it inspired us to do a similar image now for Dougie Dog, 

though with a recolored frame.  

INTERNATIONAL BOX DAY

Well, without the time or energy ... and an unwilling and uncooperative Dougie Doug ...

we have nothing new for International Box Day!

Instead, we had to dig way back into our photo files and find this "oldie but goodie"

of Angel Maggy and Zoey, ZoZo (the two who never did get on that well) ... making an attempt,

without much success ... to share a couple of boxes on the back porch of our Florida home.

They weren't really good at sharing.  

But, this did make for a fairly amusing series of photos!

Hopefully worth repeating for International Box Day!

FRIDAY is for: FELINES, FLASHBACKS and FUN

Once upon a time in Florida ~ with Angel Maggy and Zoey ~ often "rivals", and managing a somewhat fractious relationship with one another.  Here ... trying to decide who gets the closet space, who gets the precious box.  Obvious who the winner was.  Photos probably c. 2008-2009.  Am also thinking these pictures are a good choice for today as they lead right in to a reminder that coming up on Wednesday, June 19 will be a favorite annual event for many pet bloggers ~ International Box Day!  So hope everyone is thinking about the photos they'll post (old or new) and getting ready.  If you want a badge to promote the event ... there is a small size one on our sidebar you can feel free to copy, paste, use (without credit) and on our EVENTS BADGES FOR BLOGGERS page above, just click on that LINK and you'll find a larger version of the badge to use, or size for your own needs.

FRIDAY FLASHBACK ~ ONCE UPON A TIME IN FLORIDA with MAGGY and ZOEY

Twenty years, living on the Florida coast.  Sharing life with two "himmie" girls, Maggy, our tortie ...

and Zoey, the toofy blue point.  I do miss them both, though each shows up here on Zoolatry from time to time.  

Both my fluffballs had to be rehomed when I moved north in 2013.  

Each is blessed to have found new homes, new lives with "crazy cat ladies" who adore them.  

Maggy is still the Florida girl, trading the East coast for the West and moving in with a whole clatter of cats!  

Zoey traveled North and lives not too far away and gained two furry brothers, so I do see her once in awhile.  

Remembering our Florida time together, I reflect back on how "the girls" did not really get on well together.  

One could say "tolerate" was about the best they did.  

Yet, in my photo files there are a handful of pictures, which I share today, with the girls in

close proximity to one another ~ as good as it ever got in terms of closeness!  Looking at these pics

after I pulled them from the files I noticed all were "at windows".  So apparently, the lure of fresh

air, sunshine and the opportunity to find a gecko on the window screen overcame any 

distaste they had to be near one another!

HELLO !

We'll be absent for a short time, 

and maybe also from our email-gmail and from facebook etc., etc. ... 

as we (attempt) to transfer programs and files 

and a few thousand "cat photos and woofie friends images" 

(yours, mine, ours!) 

from a very, very old computer

to a nice new computer.

Just hope nothing is lost in the process ... meow!

And ye olde Zoolatry Human is going to

have quite a learning curve to say the least ...
