BLOGVILLE ARTS and ENTERTAINMENT CHALLENGE

Today is the Blogville Arts and Entertainment Challenge for February ... and the challenge was to create a "self pawtrait" using any media or style of your choosing.  As we regularly work with Adobe Photoshop CC that was our choice, freely admitting that we (I, the Zoolatry Human)
gave some assistance to both Zoey and Dougie Dog when working on the computer to design their "pawtraits".

To see more Self Pawtraits for the February challenge, visit at Blogville Arts and Entertainment today ~  just click here.

All pets are always welcome to join the monthly challenges, for information about
about each months event, stop by to see LouisDog, the Director of Arts and Entertainment.
Louis publishes the details about the monthly challenges on his own blog,  just click here.

THANKFUL THURSDAY Announcement

Thankful Thursday ~ we've always been thankful, and honored to be able to create Rainbow Bridge images for our pet friends who cross the Rainbow Bridge.

An image will be designed in both post and sidebar size and distributed to the widest possible audience so that all may visit and share their condolences.
We need only the pet's name, and a link to their blog and if available, the owners name and email.

At this time, Dougie Dog is accepting the position of Director of the Office of Rainbow Bridge Tributes for the Blogville community, you can read more today at Dory's blog, Dory's Backyard, just click here.  And to meet all the Blogville directors, just click here.

Designing Rainbow Bridge Memory images has been our privilege for many, many years and
we always do our best to create personalized pictures that say something special about the beloved pet.
We cannot visit all blogs ~ so please remember to let us know about any pet who has crossed over ~ all deserve to be remembered.  Contact Ann, our email is on the sidebar, thank you.

FRIENDS ... AND ... FUN FRIDAY

Hi there ~ my name is LOUIS DOG, and I'm the Director of Arts and Entertainment in the land of Blogville (if you don't know me already, I'm the fluffy little white guy over on the right... and you can visit me anytime at Louisdog's Life).  And over there, on the left is my good friend and very able assistant, JAKEY, Director of Artistic Development (who lives at Dory's Backyard).

We're here today to tell you about a new blog ~ open to all pet bloggers, one with wonderful and fun monthly events.  We hope you'll come visit, follow us, and join in our events!  Our first event in January featured Endangered Animal Species and lots of you participated.

Our upcoming event for February is called "SELF PAWTRAITS" and all the details about taking part can be found if you CLICK RIGHT HERE.  The deadline is February 15, so please check it out soon, and remember, it's open to all pet bloggers.

I also want to introduce you to my other good friends and impawtent pawsons in the Blogville community ~ ARTY who is the Mayor of Blogville (upper right corner, from Dory's Backyard) and last, but never least, and loved by all, little CHRISTMAS,
our City Manager (right next to me, who lives at Paw Province).

And stop by soon to visit our new blog,

RASPBERRIES and TONGUE CURLS by NOODLE ~ EAR FLAPPING at THE DAILY BONE with CHESTER and ANGEL JOEY

Zoey's famous and infamous Raspberry-Throw-Tongue-Curl Combo!
Bonus Toofs Included!

Sportscasters worldwide are gathering today, notepads at the ready,
cameras set to flash and video ready to roll!

And our reporter on the scene got this almost-exclusive **
direct quote from Noodle:
** well, not quite exclusive since we stole the quote from Noodle's blog, sorry Noodle

“What is a Raspberry Throw/Tongue Curl, Noodle?
I’m so glad you asked, Mr. Voice-inside-my-head.
You know when your siblings do something really stupid,
or they want something you have,
and you go “neener neener” at them like this:"

So, you want to see what "this" is ...
JUST CLICK HERE.

Meanwhile over at THE DAILY BONE
Dougie Dog is showing off his Ear Flapping Skills.

Well, sort of.  Now mind you, his ears are not at all as flappable
as those of CHESTER and ANGEL JOEY, the hosts of today's event.

In fact, in the first two photos here we show the
"examination of the ears" which took place prior to the event (required for all pawticipating
athletes in order to qualify), the official exam rates the flappability level of the ears.
Regrettably, Dougie Dog did score fairly low, but sufficiently high enough to enter the event.

Move on please to Photo No. 3: we call these FLYING EARS,
most often seen during running events.
Flying Ears are a modified (albeit lower level) version of Flapping Ears.

Want to see Flapping Ears today?
JUST CLICK HERE.

Just a short time prior to this event, JOEY crossed his Rainbow Bridge.
We're sure he did so with ears flapping and flying in the very best manner!
Wishing he could be with us today, but sure he is watching over all ...

SUNPUDDLE NAPPING with MADI

I am working very hard on my skills in

SUNPUDDLE NAPPING

Now, you wouldn't think a kittycat would have to work hard at this.  But when I saw that
my friend MADI, our hostess today, has a PhD in this event ~ well, jealously reigns supreme!
Here are some tips I've learned from MADI PhD.

To locate a sun puddle (most often found in a room that faces east or west):
1. Search for a nice big window (recently windexed is best)
2. Wait for the rising sun (east) or setting sun (west)
3. When that sun, from east or west, streams through that window,
search out the spot where it appears on the floor, or maybe a sofa or chair or whatever
4. Take over that spot and do not permit other cats, dogs, hamsters, gerbils,
bunnies, geckos, parakeets, fish or whatever to join you
5. It is your spot and yours alone
6.  At least until the sun moves on ... and night falls.

If you want to learn more about SunPuddle Napping,
much can be learned today if you

FETCHING by PHOD

Dougie Dog takes part in his very first Blogville Pawlymics event!

FETCHING hosted by ZAPHOD

Now we'd like to point out that it is very difficult to fetch bubbles!  As you can imagine, they do tend to disappear rather quickly when encountering large sharp teeth and wet tongues!
This is the very highest level in this pawticular sport and few athletes even attempt this.
It should also be noted that ingestion of a large quantity of soapy bubbles can have unusual
side effects [Dougie will display these in Easy's Tuneful Farting event on August 12].

Photographers Note: Please appreciate the bubble-blower-dog-handler's official t-shirt.

ZAPHOD, best known to his friends as PHOD
will be showing many "fetchers fetching" at his blog today,
so for more fun photos ... just ...

Please come visit us here at Zoolatry tomorrow, Sunday, August 7.
We're hosting Silly Sleepy Furries
and you'll see lots 'n' lots 'n' lots of your
cat and dog
friends who are taking part in our event!
