THE "NO POST" VERY LONG POST

So, where have I gone (like that old song about Joe, you know, the Yankee guy).  Not here, and no, not over there visiting any of you!  And that explains why I look so purr-turbed. But believe me, the picture is barely the half of it.  Seriously, if anyone wants to paw over and adopt me, just send a text!  To sing another JuneTune or two, let me know where and I'm on my way ... I'll be leavin' on a jet plane ... or, if you're close by ... country roads, take me home.  If nothing else, my musical tastes are eclectic.

Now, before I continue on, I am here only to vent.  Comments are off, so you need not share in my purr-ceived misery.   And I will include, in advance, mine Mommy has offered up one single comment of her own which I purr-mitted her to do.  She said, during this weeklong saga, "June, I wish to point out that I have counted at least 10, if not eleven places designated specifically for you!  Places you sit, sleep or lounge that are solely yours, that I do not and cannot share.  Conversely, I have counted 3 places plus the dining table of course, and I'll graciously add the bed, where I can place my butt!  Therefore, your complaints and moaning-meows hold no merit with me and remember I alone open the cans."

Well, there is that point about the "cans". Moving on.

It all began a week ago.

She started to move furniture, my stuff too.  Even destroying my most sacred hideouts in both, yes both, closets.  Really, who has to rearrange closets.  A new stand was due to arrive for the television.  The friend who drove 2-hours to help assemble it for her arrived.  The furniture did not.  Cry Me a River. He kindly stayed the night (sleeping in her my polka chair!). Instead she did laundry, and put a blanket in, apparently too large a one, broke the machine, opened the broken door and flooded the laundry room.  James, a very nice maintenance man here was not at all happy with her.  Day 2.  Or were we already to Day 3?  Trying to Uber order dinner for herself and friend, $$$ charged, Mr. Uber did not deliver, mine Mommy very angry.  Tries to cancel credit card charge.  But now internet not
working as she has disabled all her cable/TV/internets waiting for Xfinity to do big change to streaming and internets upgrade and needs new equipment, too.  Mine mommy is even hotter and redder and I can't even hide in my closet(s) and she is back to rearranging more furniture and friend left to drive 2-hours back to home where purr-haps he will find some quiet and peace but he did not offer to take me with him.  Drats cats.  And on to another day.
That lady in the squawk box in the ceiling announces a pipe in the garage busted and the water has to be shut off for like maybe 12-18 hours while being repaired and mine Mommy rushes to fill (we have no buckets) waste baskets and jugs and whatever she can find to have emergency water, and OMC, can she get any more out of kilter?  No shower to even cool her down.  Where oh where can I hide, send help please.  Time marches on.  And every time something got moved, here or there, out came Mr Dyson, and of course it's mandatory that I hide from him, but where?
She wakes up, it's hotter than you know what out there, but at least she has the presence of mind to put food in my bowl before disappearing. Later, returning she has new "equipment" hoping to set up the streaming/TV/internets.  Plug in here, plug in there.  Nothing works.  Bad werdz a kitty should not hear.  Back down on those old knees.  More of those werdz.  Someone please adopt me!  Finally, a call, on the in-and-out cell service (all the same provider) yelling, "I don't care what it co$t$, send a service tech soon to do it for me!  Purr Please."  Wait another day. So what do I do.  Amidst all the madness, this is what I do.  This is me.  This is all I can do.  I will no longer look upon this madwoman.

And I know.  And she knows.  That in the big wide world out there, each and every one of these purr-oblems is very very small. And here it is, Thankful Thursday, and each and every one of these purr-oblems has been solved, has been thankfully taken care of.  So, even though it's been an upsetting and miserable week, and super hot, too ... we can both say, we're thankful it is in the past.  Well, I do kinda sorta wish I had that hiding spot in my closet back, am just going to have to search out a new spot.  We'll all calm down, settle in and forget about all this real soon. Years ago, mine Mommy says there was an old TV show called TWTWTW ... something like maybe, That Was The Week That Was.  We just had one!
Mostly we're sorry and apawlogize we missed visiting and commenting on so many of our friends posts over so many days.  We may try to play catch up ... we'll see ... and if you happened to read this far, our whole venting ... OMC, you are amazing!

Comments are off.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY "MARVELOUS" MARV!

Marv's birthday party had barely just begun.
Nutty Nutmeg charged all 'round, not one to be outdone.

Jo Jo already begging for cake.
Kozmo up high, then jumping down.
Our Midway guests exclaimed, "WHAT A PAWTY!",
these friends from our small town.

You see, we were here to celebrate Marv's NUMBER NINE!
No more single digits for he.
So t'was impawtent to make the most of it,
and all our guests did agree.

So, the pawty roared on.
All were having great fun.
Sharing whisker kisses. No hisses!
And none would miss us ...
Not a one...

And as late afternoon came 'round,
Marv and I slipped away, for
alone time together, to a secret spot we had found.

By the banks of Kettle River,
our soft blanket we spread.
Set out wine, a little cheese,
as we wondered what lay ahead.

The sun was slowly setting among the trees to the West.
The birds music fading as they settled in their nests.
River waters drifted by, the softest of sound.
Each of our hearts, beginning to pound.

All that came next is a tail not to be told.
Yet a tail old as time ...

We paws.
We pause a moment ...
For 'tis a tail you're not meant to know.

"WHO WORE IT BEST?"

Today ~ we're borrowing a page from the book of Miss Ellen's 15 and Meowing,
where one can often find a fun feature called "Who Wore It Best?"

We've re-worked old holiday images,
with the Zoolatry cast of characters from times past.
Here they are, shown side-by-side and you can decide,
who wore it best?

Celebrating Christmas, and Halloween,
Thanksgiving and Dr. Seuss Day ~
with angels Maggy and Zoey, with Dougie Dog,
with a little Grandbaby tucked in, and of course,
the polka dot kitty, June!

THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES

On the ferry to Ocracoke Island, off the Outer Banks, North Carolina.
November 1974.

Ocracoke Island, November 1974.

We did not make it 50 years, as Vic crossed his bridge in 2012.
Thankfully my wonderful memories are lasting.

LUCKY DOGS!

We're blessed with four grand dogs ... lively, fun loving ... three guys, one gal and today we take a little look back at some favorite photos of them.  Two are Samoyeds, well known as "smiling sammies", Chewy and Fiona (Fiona sharing a moment with Angel Dio). Then the youngest, the little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Xander.  Last, though far from least, the one we lived with for a time, our dear chocolate Lab rescue, Dougie Dog.

Here, all four, grown up now
living the good life with their amazing families,
my kids and my grandkids.
Lucky dogs!

THE COVER GIRL

Look, mine Mommy, I'm a "cover girl"!

Well, not quite, little one ~ but maybe the "center spread" ~ it does look a lot like you!
Although, way back then, you were littler and not quite the chunky/chubbs you are now ... not as spread out, you know.

Purr-please, no comments about my additional furs!

Furs?  It's what's beneath your furs that is of concern ...

THE ZOEY ALBUM

During this month of looking back, reflections ~
we're spending a week with Zoey, an angel now
and surely as much a clown up there, out there,
beyond the rainbow as she was with all of us once.
When looking back it was hard to choose photos, literally from thousands ~
today, random and unnamed images from "the Zoey album" ...

So thankful for Zoey.

A VERY WORDY WEDNESDAY

Another thing about Zo ~ it was often easy to create a "series of photos" about her.  She'd get involved with a toy, or some other thing, and entertain herself with it for quite some length of time.  So I could shoot a number of pictures, edit them and them often "caption" these images to tell a story, of course, a story that I imagined for her!  Here are just two out of many from her years spent sharing life with us.  First: The Shuttle Launch.  Second: In The Bag.

ZOEY! THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT!

Zoey ~ photogenic.
Silly, happy, cute, sometimes furry,
other times not (that lion cut thing).
And always our little clown.

Here, just a few from her collection we'll call
That's Entertainment!

BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE

Looks like this will be "Zoey Week" as we're finding so many silly and fun photos of our Send In The Clowns kitty cat girl from the days of life in the Sunshine State ... Zoey was just a total character, always into one thing or another, happy to be photographed (and I obliged her) and more of an awake and active kitty than one to spend a lot of time napping.

Here, I'd moved all the chairs from the dining room, bar stools from the breakfast counter in the kitchen and even the grand-toddlers' little step stool ... all into the living area so as to clean the floors.  So of course, along came the resident snoopervisor, choosing the best seat in the house to observe my work.

Once done, she put on her "oh no you don't" face when I attempted to take down the tower of chairs wanting to return all to their proper places ... defiance, her middle name.

SILLY SUNDAY with ZOEY, 2008/2009

Zoey, silly Zoey (and Maggy, too) both loved to spend time in the master bathroom of our once-upon-a-time home in Florida.  An over sized glass block window provided natural lighting that made photography a joy ... and often, one or t'other would be found napping on that window ledge, or napping on a bath bench we had.  Here, Zoey (our resident clown) ... photos I think taken around 2008/2009 was playfully posing on the bath bench, until she tired, and sat sulkily with a "no more" look on her little mug!

TAMIR, AYLA, DAKOTA, ERIC and CAMERON (2011)

Looking back to a long time ago ~ we set up a "Wordy Wednesday Challenge" for pet blogging friends.
The challenge was for each, a cat or dog to send us a word of their choice,
one they thought appropriately described them, and we'd design an image using that word.
Then we all posted on the same day (in 2011) sometime later ~
Most of these friends are sweet angels now, but we thought it would be fun
(and hope their dear families agree)
to take a look back them as they took part in this art challenge, thank you all!

ALL AMERICAN PET PHOTO DAY ~ AND IT'S ME!

Hey, that's me!  JUNE!  Did you recognize me?
Am I famous?  Well, purrably not ...
but, if'n you want my autograph I'll happily provide it
for a wholabunch of treats ...

Actually, just about every day at my house is "pet photo day",
mine Mommy can't stop taking photos of me
and I've kinda sorta gotten used to it.
Here are some of her favorites.  I don't have any favorites, actually,
but I was excited (meow thank you) to be pictured today, meow!

THE REAL THING

When mine Mommy and I first discussed the "month of July" and she told me it would all be like old stuff ~ flashbacks, looking back and all that, well I was okay with it.  I mean I had just had "my month of June", my month of me.  Me, myself and I.  A little rest seemed okay at the time ... but fur real ... I've kinda sorta missed being here.  I do like it when all of you tell me I'm kinda sort "cute", my furs get all puffed up and I feel good!  Meow.  So ...

Last night I noticed she'd fallen asleep, in my polka dot chair no less (the nerve of her), and I'd been sitting at the table, watching her get a post ready for Thankful Thursday.

Me, sitting at the table.
She had been working on a post for Thankful Thursday today ...
But then she went and sat for a minute ... in my polka dot chair!
And she fell asleep!  It was my chance ...
I moved to the other side of our table,
found this picture and my paw hit PUBLISH!
