Our archives go back to the summer of 2007 when Zoolatry first published ~ and now we begin to share our fifteenth holiday season with friends and their pets from around the world, and what a joy it is to have met and come to know and care about so many! Looking back into those archives, today we've chosen to share the pets who have filled the pages of our blog over the years, featured for Caturday Art during past Christmas holidays ~
Chesapeake Red "Chessie" and Brandy ~ the beagle and the basset hound, the two family pets who grew up with our family as our young family grew up. Chessie was with us almost 18 years, even sharing her life with our grandchildren. Annie, her kits Bravo, Charlie and Delta Dawn. Our Florida feral family who became the "permanent porch kitties" at our Florida home. We cared for many other ferals during our years there, but this little family became "ours".
ZOEY, the clown, the character, so loved by so many, and her Daddy's pride and joy. Ever amusing, ever curious. Part of our lives for 7 years, then moving on to bring fun and laughter and memories to her "other mother and father" for another 7 years. Now surely, heaven's silliest angel kitty!
Zoey and Maggy. Sisters in "name" only. Living together in the sunshine state ... competitive, passing by with tails held high. Together at the window, intent on watching the porch kitties out front and the ferals out back. Never quite getting along. Only toleration. Equal in beauty, spirit. Beautiful, loved so much "himmies".
Maggy, the Magster, Magoo, the lady. Strong and independent. Gorgeous color points, worth just sitting and watching, she could bring calm to your heart and mind. Lived her life on her terms. Possibly the most photographed pet in my life.
Dougie Dog! After the loss of my husband in 2012 and a move from Florida to Maryland, I lived for a time with family and with this extraordinary chocolate Lab who stole my heart each day, and gave it back each night ~ only to steal it again the next day! He is still with his loving family and I do miss his exuberance and the deep and thoughtful look in his eyes. Big and strong, yet gentle and loving.
