Our many reasons to LIVESTRONG.

Over the next several days our postings will be dedicated to LIVESTRONG.

As a family fighting against cancer, with other family and many friends

facing similar struggles, we hope to raise awareness of, and support for

the fight against cancer, all cancers.  You can do your part by

joining in LIVESTRONG Day on October 2.

Maggy Monday is taking a little rest today.  You'll find her here on Tuesday!  We'll call it Tortie Tuesday, since the Magster is a tortie-point Himalayan. 

We wanted to make todays posting a reminder about participating in the October 2 LIVESTRONG Day event.  If you click on the TAG at the top of our sidebar, you'll find all the information you need to take part (or you can email Zoolatry or The Cat's Meow). 

For the next few Mondays we'll be showing some of our posts from the 2010 LIVESTRONG event.

Below: we'll call this post 'the yellow pages', or 'yellow book', or in honor of the Beatles, 'the yellow album'.  The ZH makes lots of family photo albums with photoshop, so she created these pages for our LIVESTRONG album last year ~ the grand kiddies, and the great kitties ~ all are reasons to LIVESTRONG.

Last, though far from least, I want to purr-sonally thank
Jan, Chandra, Linda and Cheryl
for their help with this event. 
I received a press release a few days ago from LIVESTRONG.org and would like to share their quote, from Lance Armstrong, made during his recent attendance at a global summit on cancer.
"Cancer is currently one of the most preventable and curable of the major life-threatening diseases.  However, access to prevention and treatment for the 28 million people worldwide facing cancer is often not available.  We must do more to ensure access, affordable care and equal health rights for the global community."

THANKFUL THURSDAY

ZOEY! What on earth is going on here?

I just wanted to remind all our furriends about LIVESTRONG Day, coming up on October 2.

So I went to the salon and got my furs "highlighted" as a reminder that we're all "going yellow"!

Zoey, I think your furs look quite nice, but we have some serious things to say here...

Well, I put all that serious stuff under my picture...

First, it is Thankful Thursday, and we are very thankful so many of our blogging friends

will be taking part in LIVESTRONG Day.

There are so many new kitteh and woofie bloggers out there, we hope all the old-timers

are spreading the word about this event, as we don't have emails for lots of the

new kids on the block.

We also wanted to mention that our event is now officially listed on the LIVESTRONG

website.  We are also developing a special blog ~ where you can post your pictures

and words for the event.  We are also working on setting up a special Mr Linky for the day.

And, a slide show presentation of everyones post is also in the works.

There are a whole lot of bloggers who are helping with all of this, and to each

and every one ~ a big thank you.

We hope you'll check back in with us on Saturday (or Sunday?) when we hope to

have all the details for all of these things, the proper links, emails, etc. etc.  And we'll

also be thanking all the volunteers and helpers for this event.

Right now, though we want to send a special chin scritch to Milo and Alfie, of

The Cat's Meow who originated this wonderful idea... and a hug to their human, Jan.
