LAZY

I'm lazy.  Mine Mommy is being lazy.  She says, "at least I don't have a fur coat on like you do!"

It's like the end of April and it was 90 degrees here in Boh-more yesserday.

That's kinda crazee, so we were lazee.

Cause our cool-air-stuff does NOT get turned on for another whole 15-days!

Really!  So, sorry, but if you think it's a Happy Tuesday 'round here, think again ...

 

AWWW

I had a day-mare.  

That's just like a night-mare, 'cept in the day time!

The aliens were coming to get me!

I heard the big wooshing noises of their galactic space vehicles

and saw strange light beams overhead through half open eyes,

I was so so a-scared ...

so then I just kept my eyes closed really real tight ...

Awww, June, it's okay ... wake up, little girl ...

that's just Ms Maria, vacuuming in our hallway, and Mommy is

windexing your windows so you can see the birdies better and

the sun made funny-lights on the wall above you

through half open blinds ...

no aliens, no space ships ...

come here, have a cookie and a cuddle, awwwwww ... 

AWWW MONDAY

 

SUNRISE on SUNDAY

 The sun has been slowly rising.
We've been up quite awhile.  We always get up while it is still dark.
Mine Mommy is now on her second cup of coffee
and she is reading the Washington Post.
I have had my breakfast, Sheba Chicken Alfredo, it was good.
Then I drank some nice fresh cool water and went to my window rounder to watch 
the sun fully rise, to see the city below waken and a new day begin.

I just heard the 7 o'clock church bells from the Basilica.
Soon, I'll go to my polka dot chair for a little morning nap and mine Mommy will
do this Sunrise on Sunday post for me ~ 
I don't know how the rest of the day will be.  We never get to know what is to come,
that's just the way it is.  

May your Sunday be beautiful though, from sunrise to sunset.

CATURDAY ART ~ GRAND GIRL IN THE GRAND HAT

Heading in a different direction for our Art Gallery today, we had this past picture of grand girl,
likely from more than ten years ago (she is now a med school student).

But way back when, she'd plopped her Mom's summer hat on her head and I was

snapping photos of her pretty face, playfully "flirting" with grandma!

Top photo ~ the original, a straw hot pink hat.

Middle photo ~ also an original.  But the hat has now been recolored to

a rich purple, and her image was outlined.  The purple straw was

duplicated to become the background and my grand girl superimposed on the background. 

Bottom photo ~ replay of the top photo in hot pink and purple, using a lot of

different photoshop "art" tools for a cartoon/painted effect and adding

clip art flowers.

All in all ~ kids can be as playful as kits!

Note from June ~ "mine Mommy thinks all her techy issues are worked out

now, the innernets, the cell phone, the cable stuff, most of which I could

care less about ... 'cept it has purr-vented me from going here-to-there for

many days now to visit my friends bloggies (so sorry) cause she's spent

most her time on all that stuff (MEOWZ), but I-she-we hopes all's good to go now, see you soon ..."

FELINE FRIDAY ~ WHAT'S A GIRL TO DO?

 

WORDLESS ~ Like Really Wordless!

Actually, it is mine Mommy who is either partly or totally "wordless" as she's been

messing with her cell phone, her internets and her cable ~ 

and the "peeples" who provide those services for a couple-a days now.

So!  Sometimes they work a little bit, so she shares words.

But lots of the time, they haven't been working (DRATS CATS) 

so she's been wordless a bunch of the time.

 

[UN]HAPPY TUESDAY

All day yesterday, I sat here, with my toys, playing, all alone.  Singing that song, "all by myself".  From time to time, I meowed and pleaded with mine Mommy ~ I so want a play date, please, purrr please.  She was unmoved, unrelenting, inattentive to my pleas, my words, even to my actions when I reached out, claws extended and managed a good scratch on her leg as she passed by!  Oh yes, I heard that "ooowie, June" and saw her applying a band-aid, but it was deserved!  

You know, I even tried the infamous "SMUDGE Annoying Look" (which I've been practicing), but even though she is quite fond of Smudge, she was not moved at all by "the S.A. Look".  Well, maybe I've not perfected it yet.  

And guess what, I even scattered all the toys out of my toy box.  Did that bother her?  No.  I finally tried the ultimate sign of my displeasure, yes, kitties, the final resort.  One we kitties should only use in the most extreme of circumstances, when we really really need to get our point across.  I did it.  I kicked a pooper (and it was a biggie, I was very proud of it) out of the litter-loo box.  Right where she HAD to see it!  HAD to step over it to use her own litter-loo box!  Ha, I said to myself, that will do it, now she'll know I mean business.

But alas.  She merely grabbed a stinky Lysol wipe and away it went, you know where.  Another few of those wipes on the floor, "easy-peasy" I heard her say, and that was that.  A rather muffled "oh, juney" escaped her lips and she went on to other stuff.  I was deflated.  Truly at a loss as to what to do, how to change her mind.  In a muffled voice again, I think I heard, "not gonna happen".  Sigh.

EASY (SUNDAY) DOES IT

 

PICK-A-PIC by JUNE

Mine Mommy didn't get 'round to doing her usual Caturday Art for this week, and I hadn't done a "pick-a-pic" in a really long time, so she said "okay, you can take over, paw through your files and choose a few".  

Now, I'm not old as dirt like she is, (hey, don't swat me, Mom), so anyway, I'm hoping you haven't seen these before, cause even I forget what's posted, but even if you have, they're some of my favorites, so here we goes ... with just a little bit of 'splaining.  OK?  OK!  Meow!

Oh, I 'member how excited I got on this day, when she did majorly major cleaning

and found every spring toy I ever had from under chairs, tables, in closets, behind the fridge!

What a collection!  Now I could hide (or lose!) 'em all over again!

But then she had to go and twist one spring around

this old ropey thing, boyohboy did I struggle to get it free ...

look at that top picture again ... see that empty space?

That's where it was s'pposed to be!!!

Hiding.  In the closet.  This is my go-to-closet.

  For when the big thunders come.  

Mine Mommy always keeps the door open an inch or so,

I can put my paw in and all by myself I can open it the rest of the way

and hide in the corner.  We have four walk-in closets and I go in all

of them, but this one is the best cause no light comes on!  And

she doesn't put other stuffs in there so there's always room for me.

It's dark and quiet, and no ~ the shoes don't smell!

Mommy is not too happy 'bout this.  Why?  She's had this very same

Daytimer for 58 years!  Seriously.  

Yeah, there's a calendar, address book, phone numbers, all that stuff,

 on the cell phone, and the 'puter, and the refrigerator ... but this one is special to her.  

Like it means a lot.

I'm just checking to see what's going on today

and of course hear ... "Juney, be careful now ..."

Honestly, I think if the house were afire, she'd grab this before she grabbed me! 

This?  Just because I wanted to share one sort of normal, pretty picture of me!

A BEAUTIFUL DAY

 ~ lovely, sunny, breezy blue sky Saturday ~ 

~ a short walk in the park across the street ~
a photo of the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, the magnificent 
Victorian Gothic cathedral, built in 1872 that faces the park

it still surprises me when I turn onto a side street I've not walked before,

and find a treasure, here a lovely home, tucked back into a wild little garden,

it's bright door so welcoming

meanwhile, back at home, June enjoys her own breezy spring air by the window

~ enjoy this new day, may it be beautiful ~

CATURDAY ART ~ WINDOW WHISKERS

The original photo, above, was quite dramatic on its own with detail, sharpness and lighting.

For Caturday Art "One", below, we simply did a tight crop, 

used the smart sharpen tool to further enhance June's whiskers 

and the edges of her fur.

Also the background angles were slightly "straightened" as I tend to be bothered

when objects in the background appear off-kilter, 

and my attention is drawn there, rather than to the subject.  

The background was softened and

cleaned up with the blurring tool.  All tools from Adobe Creative Cloud.

Thinking it would be fun to go a little bit further, 

this same image became Caturday Art "Two", below.  

Now with an overall sepia filter and a tighter crop.

Then the outer image was blocked out as a solid sepia frame, "cut" into sections

with hairline rules and each section was applied with a different percentage

of tone (lighter) to alter the frame.

Whether this version came out better ~ or worse ~ or just different,

well, it's said that's in the eye of the beholder!

SAY A LITTLE PRAYER of THANKFULS

I'm very thankful so many paws came together to help bring

Mr. Terry home to his family, and thankful for all the peoples who helped him too.

Today I have my paws together, with a wholabunch of purrs 'n' prayers for

our good good friend Mr. Terry of Brian's Home ~ he has a really big heart,

but right now it seems to need a little bit of fixin' up.

I didn't understand that, but mine Mommy said it's cause he uses that heart

so much to help so many kitties in need and he uses it so much to help 

lots of peoples too ... he's just like that, you know, meow.
