For WORLD CAT DAY, we've made a "Word Search Puzzle"!

 Most of you know that sweet Maggy chose to find a new home in Florida, when the ZH moved
to Maryland in late June.  So we now want to "offurcially" thank Miss Peggy, well known
by her famous "Peggy Blankies" along with Romeo, Sophie, Isis, Bob and Jeannie who all
welcomed Maggy with open arms and open paws!  Love to you all!  And we also send
thanks and love to Miss Dee, to that handsome fellow TK, and to playful Pip, who have
ever so kindly taken Zoey into their home until such time as the ZH can once again
provide a home for her.  YOU ALL ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST!

FRIENDS FRIDAY ~ ARTY-MOUSE

Artemisia and her family ~ well, they're long time furriends of ours.  And

we've been unhappy that ArtyMouse went missing, way back in May.

You might think it's been a long time, but we still believe she'll find her way home.

Below: Artemisia is Adorable!  Isn't she?  Of course she is!  This is an old photo from

maybe 2009 or '10 (?) when she took the Wordy Wednesday Challenge, and

adorable was her word.  The right word fur sure ~ please come home, sweetheart!

CAT TALK TIME

Cats are very expressive.  And in our years of pet blogging, we've found that their humans are very expressive, too!  So we're putting out a challenge to one and all, just a furry-fun event, for Tuesday August 23 ~ on your blog, just post your favorite, clever, old, new, unusual, humorous cat talk.  We were recently introduced to some new cat talk ~ "whisker humps".  Of course, there's "tail wags", and "chin scritches" and so many more.  And when it comes to the humans, well ... we've heard beans, and bipeds, and food purrsons.  And let's not forget the famous MOL.  So, that's the Cat Talk Time Challenge ~ get wordy, creatively wordy ~ and if you can show a photo that goes with your "talk", that's even better!  No prizes, no awards, just a wholelotta fun.  [P.S. if you have time to stop in here at Zoolatry, and leave a comment with your cat talk time words, Maggy and Zoey are thinking of picking their top three favorites and challenging the ZH to create a "photoart picture" of each.  MOL, she might even create a Cat Blogosphere Pictionary! SAYING GOODBYE

We stop for a moment to remember and say goodbye to another dear friend and his family.

THILLY and THANKFUL THURSDAY

I spotted the crumb-catcher-rug-pup wearing a new hat the other day.  I think the ZH bought it

at that all-purpose-place called WalMart while grocery shopping. 

You know it's very difficult for her to go grocery shopping

at that store and not come home with an assortment of other things that

don't qualify as groceries.  Anyway: you know I like hats myself, and so when the

rug-pup went to nap, I borrowed it... I think it will be particularly useful when Maggy gets

too close to me... I think she'll be scared off by it...  if she is, I say "good".

Also this week, the ZH received a wonderful package from furriends Hannah and Lucy.

Some great storybooks to read to the grandbeans.  I, too, like to read, and I'm getting better

at it all the time.  Once upon a time I could only read picture books. 

Then I moved up to books with some words on the pages. 

Now, as one of the ZH's grand-nieces said, "I can read chapter books!"

How cool is that!

After looking over all the books, I chose first to read "It's A Dog's Life" as I think since

all the other family humans have dogs at their houses, it's important for me to learn more

about them.  Maybe it'll help me learn more about the little rug-pup that comes here, too!

Next I chose to read "The Tiger Who Came To Tea".

However, I freely admit that reading can make me a bit snoozy, so I stopped

for just a little while to nap...

FRIDAY FUN ~ THE Z-STARS

The ZH doesn't have quite as much free time now for all the fun "picture making".  So Maggy and Zoey suggested that every Friday she should dig deep into our archives and post FRIDAY FUN Z-STARS.  
Pictures we've made for you, pictures you might remember, or pictures you may have forgotten... and since there are many new blogger friends out there... pictures that some of you might not have seen.
We have "fun" making all our pictures, some bring a smile, some have brought tears.  Some have themes, or were created for holidays.  Some were done on request.  Some are part of challenges or special events.  Some are ~ well, they just are what they are!
Starting today, we post our FRIDAY FUN Z-STARS.  Each week we'll try to remember to let you know ahead of time if you're the feature for the week, and we'll send you a Z-STAR badge (like the one shown here) that you can use on your blog if you'd like to do so.  So, scroll down if you will... and meet our first FRIDAY FUN Z-STARS, our long time and very good special friends [and we also luvs the Mr and Mrs Cat's Meow] ... Milo and Alfie Marshall of The Cat's Meow.

We kind of helped Milo [designer, writer, illustrator] to make this little coloring book for his brofur, Alfie.  One day while out playing in the garden [and Alfie has quite the beautiful garden] he came across two new playmates, and they immediately became friends.  But then, Alfie got a little frightened when his new friends saurus-momma came by and roared at him.  Milo said, "roar back Alfie, you're big 'n' strong and you can do it... you are ALFIESAURUS!"  So the saurus-momma realized Alfie was a very good kitty and would be a good friend to her little ones.  And after that, they all went back to play in Milo's Den and lived happily ever after.  And the moral of the story is that we can all have many different kinds of friends ~ they don't have to look like us, or talk like us, or have furs like us ~ but we can be Friends Forever.  The End.
