FELINE FRIDAY

Once upon a time with Angel Mags and Angel Zo ...
and yes, they often practiced bipartisanship ...
or at the least, made every effort to do so!

THE ZOOLATRY FAMILY, PART 31, In Memory of All

FIRST PHOTOS

Maggy ~ adopted by Zoolatry at 14 months of age in January 2005.

Zoey ~ adopted by Zoolatry at 6 months of age in August 2006.

More of their stories can be read on the page link above,
"On The Street Where I Live ~ About Zoolatry"

Our "month of angels, our month with Maggy and Zoey" has reached its end.
There is little doubt that Zoey has earned her "halo and wings".
She will always be the curious one, running round-about the clouds-and-stars up there,
causing some mischief for the Angel in Charge ~
being a thorn in the side from time to time for the Magster.
On the other paw, we suspect that TK will manage to keep her in line whenever he can,
and of course, Poppy Vic will grab hold and lovingly scold her with a kiss or hug
and all will be well and good.
Mags and Zo will continue to visit Zoolatry over times ahead,
after all it was created for them, and they'll always have a "home" here.

THE ZOOLATRY GIRLS, PART 30

Favorite selections, pre-posted, from our collection of Caturday Art images of Maggy and Zoey.

It has been a joy to look back over so many years  ~ to share with you just a few of our
favorite pictures of The Zoolatry Girls.  Having posted about them for so long, we could probably
just start repeating, week after week, month after month!

But then our dear Dougie Dog would become so neglected, not fair!
For reasons too many to mention, I cannot have cats back into my life (one could also complain not fair),
but we have to play the hand we're dealt ... and Dougie Dog is an amazing and loving companion.
And I love being with him, photographing him, and also photoshopping him!

If you can, stop by tomorrow, for our special and final Part 31 of The Zoolatry Girls.
But they will always have a home here, and will always visit often,
and of course, Zoey will soon present herself, proudly wearing
her "halo and wings".

PS
Our month of June will also be a month largely of repeat images, all ART GALLERY, Caturday Art.  Our county, side-by-side to Washington, DC is only due to partially open beginning next week.  It is a very long time that we have been home bound.  In addition, during the month of May, we had major remodeling (which, yes, believe it or not, went ahead as planned) done on our house.  So confined to small spaces due to the coronavirus, shrank to an even smaller space about 30-days ago.  Again, not complaining ~ it is what it is!  However, little or no new photos of Dougie Dog have been taken ~ as the workers came and went mostly through "his backyard" ... poor boy hasn't had Wilson-time or much other than short walks since furever!  Anyway: as it says over on our sidebar ... we are learning to accept the life that is waiting for us ...

THE ZOOLATRY GIRLS, PART 28

Earlier this month I shared a post about "propinquity" between Maggy and Zoey (or the lack thereof), yet I was always thankful for the rare moment of getting a photo of them together.  And if not, well Photoshop allowed me to "put" them together.  Here, a few more of my favorites of The Zoolatry Girls, two beautiful and interesting kitties ... and I will always be thankful they were part of my life.

THE ZOOLATRY GIRLS, PART 24

My Sunday Selfie ~
from Heaven.

"guess what furriends ~ I had a meeting, well, a very short one, with the
Angel In Charge ~ and she told me that real soon, like purrty soon, I might just
receive my wings and maybe a shiny, sparkling halo, too!

I only have to be very very very good for just a few more days,
Maggy and TK and of course Poppy Vic will help me with that.

and like that famous little choo-choo train ...

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can."

THE ZOOLATRY GIRLS, PART 23

This has been a month in memory of Maggy and Zoey, showing and sharing many of our favorite and special photos of them.  I don't remember when or why we decided to start changing our blog header each month ~ perhaps for the seasons, or the holidays ~ or just another opportunity to practice our Photoshop and CATURDAY ART, but somewhere along the years it became a regular thing to do.  Above a few favorites with Maggy and Zoey ... and below, transitioning when Dougie Dog joined us.

THE ZOOLATRY GIRLS, PART 22

Just some photos I loved of a little girl kitty I loved.
Photographed in my Florida home, 2009 through 2012.

Was that last photo prophetic?
was she then, as right now, in discussion with the
Angel in Charge
about  how to get her "halo and wings" when the time came,
did she know that it just might be a wee bit difficult
... wondering ...

THE ZOOLATRY GIRLS, PART 19

THE DOLL HOUSE a/k/a The Cat House

In our family for two generations, enjoyed by daughters, granddaughters, nieces and grandnieces
(and yes, there were a few little boys known to move some furniture around and about also, and
when located elsewhere, park a car or truck in the "yard" or driveway!
The house moved also: from Virginia, to Michigan to Florida
and eventually to parts unknown, hopefully to be enjoyed by another young family.

Zoey, being the forever-kitten-kid was always around to play with any of the grands who
were at our house and of course, had to check out their toys as well.
Apparently, on this day (with granddaughter, about 10 years ago as best I recall),
she found the kitchen to be the room of greatest interest ...

It always made me happy to see Zoey playing with all the kids ...
we'll share a few more "kids and kits" pictures
over the next couple days.

But for today, this is our

THE ZOOLATRY GIRLS, PART 16 [ A Special Zoey Report]

Back at the end of April, we mentioned in a posting [click here to read]
that although Zoey had crossed her rainbow bridge ~ she had some "work to do" toward earning her halo and wings!
When St. Peter had opened the gates to allow her in, she'd simply rushed by without so much as a pleasant
hi-and-hello and meow-de-doo ... off in search of Mags and well . . .

So, here's a bit of an updated Z-report!  She's had about 15 days or so now.  Admittedly, a few have been spent with play.
After all, that's what kitties do, especially Zo-kitties!  And of course, as we've roamed through and shared some photos of the Zoolatry Girls with you, she did find Maggy.  Whether that's good or bad, time will tell (or surely one of the Angels will tell!) ... And guess what?  While running around and about, she also found her big adopted bro-fur TK!  Now he was the gentle one, truth be told, for awhile there he was the "master of the house", so Zoey stayed properly polite to TK.  She was happy to see him, he was running and playing and enjoying sunshine naps and chomping grass ... with shiny, bright eyes that could see all the beauty 'round him and for TK it really was "heaven".  And you know who else she found as she explored heaven . . . Poppy Vic!  That was really special, as she hadn't seen him in a very long time.  And Poppy was truly her first love.  It felt so good to be in his arms again, caressed by his gentle hands.  Now, don't misunderstand, she is still missing everyone down here on earth ~ but heaven has some benefits too!
Maggy may be steering clear of her understandably.  But she's also learning some lessons from TK and Poppy Vic ... about being good and gentle (which she really was most the time) and no doubt the Angels in Charge are watching from the wings (pun intended) and before the month comes to an end, Zoey will earn her "halo and wings" . . .

And with looks like these, who would or could refuse her?

THE ZOOLATRY GIRLS, PART 14

Zoey ~ Big and Small ~ Today and Yesterday
A blue point Himalayan (they are part Persian and part Siamese by heritage) . . . and though
thankful for her long and floofy fur it has to be noted that she was not fond of brushing.
Oh, you could brush her back ... perhaps even get away (albeit briefly) under her chinny-chin-chin,
maybe a swipe or two along that big tail!  But really, get at the mats that formed under her neck,
under her legs, on her sweet belly: NEVER.  So the time would come for a spa visit.
A spa visit usually meant a "lion cut" (I did not much like that look) but it seemed
the common and preferred way of grooming.
Zoey, one might think she was a big girl ~ not so, for most her life,
just a wisp of a little thing, all of seven-pounds beneath all that fur!

My Song by Zoey

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they're here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
Suddenly, I'm not half the cat I used to be.
There's no floofness hanging over me, oh, yesterday came suddenly.
Why it had to go, I don't know - they wouldn't say.
I don't understand - and I long for yesterday.
Yesterday, how I so loved to run and play,
now I need a place to hide away,
yes, I believe in yesterday.

and with sincere apawlogies to John, Paul, George and Ringo
Zoey is sharing her purrsonal
version of one of the most beautiful songs ever written . . .

It's Thankful Thursday and we were,
for 14 years
Thankful for Zoey!

THE ZOOLATRY GIRLS, PART 13

Propinquity!  What a fun word, it even sounds fun, the way it rolls out of one's mouth!  And it means something quite nice . . . the state of being close to someone, or something.  Not something any of us can put into practice so much right now . . . and not something that Maggy and Zoey were ever known to put into practice over their years of living together.
And yet there were those rare moments when I was able to catch them in proximity to one another (with no swatting or hissing taking place) and capture a photo.  And one would think they were the fondest of housemates.  Not!  It was simply that they both wanted to enjoy the breezes of an open window ... or had been attracted for some reason to the same window ledge on the back porch.  Who can ever quite know the mind of a kitty?

Here, photo captures of those times Maggy and Zoey showed a little bit of propinquity!

THE ZOOLATRY GIRLS, PART 12

Zoey, the happy kitty!
Often posting here over the years in a slightly different way . . .
with a slightly different look!
That was Zo: she just wanted to make you smile, laugh, be happy!

Above, background: Toy Zoey (we'd say "stuffed toy Zoey", but would not want to insult her!).
Front, left: Cartoon Zoey, Here's Lookin' At Ya!.
Front, right: ZOEY, illustrated by Lorianne Miller of Four Legged Furballs.

Above: Mini-Me Zoey
Handmade by Ms Lynne of Dip-Dip and the Bridge, a former blogger from across the pond,
and amazing creator of mini-me figures of our kitties and our woofies!
Lastly, yet one more "look" for Zoey!

It's Happy Tuesday.
May one and all find happiness today and
every day.

THE ZOOLATRY GIRLS, PART 9

Caturday Art ~ today featuring beautiful Maggy, my heart cat.

Join the Caturday Art Blog Hop
sponsored by Athena Cat Goddess,
Athena and Marie.

A tortoise shell Himalayan Maggy had (at least to me) striking color points: the reddish glow on the
tips of her ears and the red-gold furs on her paws.  On her forehead, what I would call her "white star".
And though not necessarily a "himmie" feature, her distinctive chocolate-vanilla chin!
Whereas Zoey gravitated toward Poppy Vic (so he is no doubt happy to have her with him once again), the "Magoo",
even in her independent and feisty moods, tended to hang with me!
Tho today is Caturday Art day, there is "art in photography" certainly,
so first a few favorite photographs that show the uniqueness of Maggy ~ followed by Photoshop art of her.
All images from 2010 and 2011.

THE ZOOLATRY GIRLS, PART 8

Back to Florida c. 2009/2010
Both the Zoolatry Girls loved the glass block window in the master bathroom,
it captured light from sun up to mid afternoon.  Warmth without glare and was
a favored resting spot for first-come first-serve.  Because of the natural lighting it
was also a great place for photography.

If you haven't had a chance to check out all of the May Special Events, you may want
to do so.  We've just added another, World Parrot Day, Sunday, May 31.
