JUNE ~ "I Finally Have My Own August Special Event Day!"

Hi ~ June here ~ I haven't been around much this month,

and now that August has come to an end, 

I thought I'd stop back in (I did have to remind mine Mommy that it is my blog)

just to let you know what I've been doing all month.

From our own family ~ Chewy, Fiona, Xander, Dougie Dog

and ... me.

These truly wonderful, fun loving and amazing cats and dogs

represented about thirty pet blogging friends, but a

few more "pets" than that!

We didn't take a count, but think it was about half meowers

and half barkers ... all active in our community.

And we thank every one of you for pawing forward, for allowing us to

"play with your photos" and to post to our blog.

For us, this August Special Event was challenging, but oh, lots of fun!

We met some new friends along the way and

sure hope each of you did as well.

These posts now move into the pages that follow, called 'older posts',

but as our policy is to approve comments, many comments often came

in after the fact, so we'd like to suggest that you ~ if you were

featured here ~ might like to take a peek back sometime!  Nearly

every one of you received lots of happy and favorable comments

that you'd enjoy reading I'm sure.

And tomorrow we move on into September.

THE ZOOLATRY FAMILY

My pet family ~ the Zoolatry family ~ past, present and extended ~ 

has been filled with animals ever since I can remember, from my earliest childhood days until now.  

Cats, dogs, birds, fish ~ hamsters, more!  Each and every one special, precious.

  For many, there are no photos, they live on only in the "album of my mind", 

but they still live on for they each added something to my life 
and for that I am forever grateful.  Today, we share a few.

The most special, the best kitty furriends ever ~ why?

Because they owned my most special and best friend ever.

I had the joy of knowing them well, even living with them for

a short time, traveling with them, vacationing with them.

Pip and TK are angels now.

I miss them both, I loved them both.

Thank you to all the many animals who have been kind and good

enough to share their lives with me.

LEVI and ROARY ~ Our Friends

 A conversation.
A conversation between a Cat and a Dog.
Or better described as a chat between a Cat and a Dog.
This Cat and this Dog live together ~ 

sometimes in harmony, and sometimes not so much,
at CAT and DOG CHAT with CAREN.

And we shall call the cat, ROARY and we shall call the dog, LEVI.
Why? Because ... those are their names.  

Now, let's eavesdrop on their conversation.

But allow us to set the scene first ~ as this could also be a conversation

between two humans in any given household ~ on any given Sunday ~ who are

doing their best (or not) ~ to share a remote control, even perhaps to watch a

football game (! soon !) ~ possibly the now home town team, the Detroit Lions, 

or possibly a once long ago favorite the Cleveland Browns, 

it is hard to root for many teams at the same time (with one remote) ~ 

But ~ we've digressed here, so let's paw on to

Roary and Levi and whatever they have to bark and meow about ~

LEVI  "get your paws off my remote!"

ROARY   "but I am named for the Lion's mascot, I should be remote-manager,

if  I do say so myself, and get offa this couch!"

LEVI   "To set the record straight, Cat, I'm the Number One dog,

 like the Coach, the Quarterback and allowed on this couch whenever I want, 

it's like my team bench!"

ROARY   "you're just an ole couch potato, anyway, and as for being Number One Dog, 

let me remind you that you're the only dog!

Besides, you're from O-HI-O, you should be rooting for that other team ..."

LEVI   "go get some popcorn and quit the meowy whining

or it's off to the locker room with you."

ROARY    "almost time for kick off, you know I'm a good kicker,

got some really fast 'n' mean kickin' back paws here!"

LEVI   "Mom! Roary is being mean to me."

LEVI   "Dad! Roary won't leave me alone."

LEVI   "Mom! Roary is picking on me again!"

ROARY  "Always said I was a MVP (most valuable pet)!"

Important notice: we have to begin with apawlogies to the Petcretary and the Pawppy over at Meezer's Mews and Terrieristical Woofs, which is the proper and official name for BENJI and DALTON'S wonderful blog ... but if'n we try to type that name a few times, we're very like to misspell it a few (or more) times, so henceforth, we're referring to BENJI and DALTON as our dear pupper friends over at TT WOOFS.  OK? OK!  Thank you, and now on with the story ~ this is the story of ~ 

THE SHEDDING OF THE SHED

Somewhere, out in the back-forty, also known as the backyard, lived an old,
somewhat dilapidated shed, fondly known as "daddy's house", only because he kept it full of "daddy stuff" (whatever that is).  And the day came, late July we understand, when it was "shedded" and came tumbling down, with a little help of course.  The smart TT WOOFs, stayed clear of that messy mess, then watched with curiosity as a new one rose in its place.  Quietly woofing to one another, they

realized what an amazing house this would be for them ... the Pawppy had no need for it, not at all!  Quickly they gathered toys, bowls, a bone and more ... and bribed a kind workman who made a sign for the shed!  

When the Petcretary came home from work, and Pawppy came out for his garden tools, 

surely they would not be upset.  They would be, well, surprised? Pleased? Happy?  Woof! Woof!

~ but wait ~ the story doesn't end just yet ~

You see, these TT WOOFS, Benji and Dalton are also two rather

enterprising puppers.  Having a little chat together during some yard time,

they realized this could also be a good investment ...

BENJI "hey Dalton, think about our names ..."

DALTON "our names, what do you mean ..."

BENJI "well I am B and you are D, and when visitors come, tourists, you know ..."

DALTON "oh woof, oh woof, we need a new and different sign up there, don't we ..."

BENJI  "yes, let's get on it, woof, woof"

 NEILSON, da Nelly, Master of Ceremonies at
the House and Home of Comedy and Tragedy 

... his rights, responsibilities, duties and more ...

1. is allowed on da couch or any place of his choosing at anytime
2. must be winner when engaged in tousling with da phenny
3. approved as official caretaker for da dad mark
[sit on lap, help eat his food, chew his shoes, take him for walks, etc., etc.]
4. has permission to eat da f....ng katty cake to include frosting
5. presenter of roses to Rosy each Friday
6. is always acknowledged as da smartest weim dog

NEILSON [da Nelly] noted recently that the duties and responsibilities of the
weims, once living the EASY life, just like "comedy and tragedy" took a
dramatic turn not long ago, when Dad Mark suddenly fell ill ~ and 
faster-than-fast paws rushed him off to hospital where he stayed for awhile.
Of course, that did give these wild-weims full occupancy of the couch ...
be that as it may:
all are glad to have him home again, where he belongs.
Mostly so they can bother him of course, jump upon him, share the usual
"Moanday" with him and generally create enough havoc that he
will be forced to get better and reclaim control of the "house and home".

So, truth be told, da Nelly is not really the "master" after all, not by a long shot.

By the sea, by the sea,
by the beautiful sea.  Just you and me ~ NOELLE and REESIE.

Okay, yes, not really "by the sea", only a few paws away from the sparkling blue ocean.

In a special place where even if they can only dream of being beachgoers,

 they can enjoy the flights of water birds from their window perches ...

 try to catch the geckoes that climb on screens ... 

enjoy sun and warm breezes nearly all year 'round.

MIRANDA and MOM MARJORIE ~ Our Friends

WILSON ~ Our Friend

Good morning, my name is WILSON.  I am a "Mile High City" mutt.  
Well, of course, I'm not a mutt at all, but a super special pup, and I'm ... I'm ...

ELSA:  hey, hold your paws here, "land hippo", and you are a mutt in my humble opinion.  
Why are you HERE today, on someone else's blog?  
Why not me?  What's with this?

WILSON:  cause I was invited to tell our tale, the tales of life here around the ranch and my own tale, and ... and ...

ELSA:  and you can't even spell our name right, dunder-dog, it' TAILS, 

Tails Around the Ranch!  

OK, let's paws a minute, puppers, it's June, the cat, the one who lives here,

and I loves both of you ... but as I meowed to mine Mommy a minute ago,

no wayz do we (or does she) ever "overhear" the rather "barbed banter"

that goes on between the two of you, as amusing as it is.

Only Mom Monika is privy to that, so we'll not attempt to copy it further,

but rather just tell Wilson's special story, 

with a nod of appreciation to Elsa for remaining quiet at this time, thank you, Elsa.

There is a lot more to Wilson's "tail" that just being a handsome young dude,

 living the good life (but being a hard, dedicated worker) ... with sister Elsa, and Mom Monika ... 

sharing the beauty of where they live, walks in the park, 

gorgeous photography, and so much more.

Wilson has chosen to follow in the pawprints of his angel brother, Stormin' Norman 

and has been in training to become a therapy dog.  

Paws Up, please!

His "yellow scarf" indicates he is currently on probation ...

but soon, very soon ... he will be riding in his Wilson's Wagon,

full of love, laughter and joy ... 

to bring all that and more to hospitalized children in his community.  

Way to go, Wilson, we're proud of you

DANI, O'DANI ~ Our Friend

Do you know this elegant lady?  Our resident fashionista?

Always ready to place paw on any Parisian runway, ready to take a turn for the camera, 

dressed for her photo shoot, and sure to be a magazine cover choice?

Of course, it is none other than the beautiful French Canadian Maine Coon,

DANI ~ O' Dani Girl.

We couldn't resist wrapping her lush torbie furs of orange, red and gold

with more fur and posing her as a "snow princess", though do not fear,

she is a pampered and loved indoor princess.

But our beautiful lady has a lighter side, too.

Each Friday, she takes to the stage and shows her theatrical side ~

this weekly event, with a cast of pet blogging friends is a show

you should not miss!

NILI ~ Our Friend

If you haven't met little NILI, please stop by!

She's about three-years young, a little rescue, found wandering the streets (no chip, no tags) ... 

but now about three weeks in her forever home at LAYLA'S WOOF,

carrying on the legacy of beautiful Layla.

And it is becoming a meant-to-be-together story.

 

Ruth lost her precious Layla in May, after fourteen years together,

then unexpectedly, there was Nili.  Nili, and as Ruth lovingly describes her ...

MEOWS ~ from MARLEY, your Monday Mancat!

As the senior fellow here at Mark's Mews (well, in truth that's purrably TBT) but we

don't want to discuss his age ~ so pawing onward.

As I was sayin'.  It is my responsibility to keep all these young uns in their

proper place.  There's Lori, Binq and Taz and in between my naptime,

my meals, a few snacks ... I find it most impawtent that I share my mouse

catching skills with them.  I am truly Number One in that category.

By the way, I just celebrated my 14th last Friday and if you want some proof

of those mouser-skills just look at that birthday post when you stop by!!!

But, back to Monday Mancat, as I was sayin'.

I find myself spending some time each day in our Mews Room, purrtending to be a

"pawlympian" and doing regular workouts ... keeps me in shape!
