THANKFUL FOR ~

Thankful for our little tree.  Up there on our banner ~ photographed in early morning light,
with the sun streaming in through the window blinds, it sparkles.  And no, I am not
really sitting beside the tree, mine Mommy "put me there", I'm not allowed near.

Then we realized that just like it wasn't a good idea for me to be near our tree,
maybe it wasn't a good idea to have a candle by the tree either.
So in this picture (and yes, she "put me" in this one too) the candle made
way for a little lamp, and colors changed as she photographed in warm evening light.

Purr-haps you notice one other thing in this picture, the little monkey.
Little Monkey has his own story, a tradition if you will.  He is very old,
like maybe 75-years old or thereabouts and he is from Germany.
When mine Mommy's Poppy Vic (across his bridge now) was a little boy, he lived there
and his German nanny gave this Little Monkey to him one Christmas.
Poppy Vic always had kitty cats and a kitty cat bit Little Monkey's toe one
morning ~ see his bandaged toe!  Oh dear, meowz.  That's still the same
old bandage, too, but that is what tradition is.
And mine Mommy told me that she and Poppy always had Little Monkey
on their Christmas tree for years and years.

I've promised not to put a bitey on his other toe.
Meowz.

THANKFUL

Today we are thankful for family, dear friends, home and health and much more.
And for so many of you who continue to support us here,
though we are often absent now and rarely able to visit and spend time with you.
That you still stop by to say hello-and-meow to us is a
special gift and on this day we give thanks to each of you.

TRUDY and TOM

Yes, wild turkeys can fly.
Short distances that is, and at considerable speed.
Though they generally only do so to escape predators or to sleep safely in trees at night.
Domesticated turkeys no longer have the ability to fly, mostly due to being
overweight and kept caged as they await their ultimate fate of visiting your table.

THANKFUL FOR ~~ DOGS!

June, here, I'm napping again today, while mine Mommy
shares "all the dogs" in our family ~ who, yes ~
we are both thankful for, because they all make everyone really-big-happy!

Xander, you've met before, lives with granddaughter Isabel (bottom photo) and Winnie, a
British Creme Retriever is his new little sister.  Winnie is also shown in the two middle pictures,
and again held by grandson Ethan in the bottom photo.

Not long ago, we shared the adorable pups, Tippi and Ruby, who make
their home with a dear friend in northern Florida ~ here they
are again, sharing a cuddled-up nap together.

Well, yes ~ thankful for dogs ~ but, if that granddaughter didn't have her
paws full enough being a 3rd year medical student ~ now with two puppers,
a tropical fish tank and a gerbil to care for ~
well: here's her feral kitty cat colony, living on her front porch,
a few TNR'd so far, all well cared for each and every day.

SWEET SLEEPIES PLUS

Me and mine Mommy haven't been doing a lot lately.
Me, I just nap a lot.
She, she just naps a lot in the chair beside the chair I'm napping in a lot.
Sometimes she takes a picture of me napping in that chair.

I told her it might be time to post some pictures of me again,
after all it had been a long long time and she said,
"ok, I will, but maybe we should include one of you 'not napping',
so I said 'ok', so there is also one of me not napping,
but I'm still in the same chair."

That's all. Meowz, June.

IT'S HER DAY!

We haven't been posting a wholabunch.
Mine Mommy hasn't taken me visiting ~ well, like at all!
You see, her paws have been giving her a lot of trouble, like when she tries to make
pictures or type stuff and her paws don't work,
and she makes lots and lots of mistakes and just gives up, and
well kinda sorta mine don't work so good without help from hers.

So I is sorry and missing all of you ...

Anywayz, I told her you got to post for your day, so help me do this picture.

A few years ago I counted like really high and made a
picture with the right number of red and white striped candles.
But I was threatened (yes, can you believe it?) with the
loss of evening treats ... if'n I did that again ... OMC!

So, anywayz, go figure, I'm not telling, let's just say,
she's like older than she used to be.  Yeah.  Meowz.
Happy Your Day, Mine Mommy.

AWWW ~ "PAWS OFF" SHE SAID

I gots very excited.  More than kinda sorta excited.  Like very excited.
You see mine Mommy had brought this big box from the very top of the closet out and put it on
our day bed and she was pawing through it.  She set a few things here and there and one was
my Merry Basket, but she loudly said "paws off", just as I was about to put my
little mousie and red spring toy in it!  Meowz!

I thought we were going to decorate for the holidays, but no, not yet.
She just wanted to have a little look-see and figure out if'n she needed to get
more wrap or ribbon, or whatever or whatever.  Meowz!

Me?  I'm wanting to fill that Merry Basket with cards from all my
friends.  And I'm making a list of all the friends I want to send cards to ...
cause it makes me meowy-happy to do that.

And remember, if you want to do that too, the deadline is November 20.
That's just ten days from now (I can count to ten and more you know!),
so I hope lots more of you will join.
Just paw right over to my sidebar for holiday event news ...

CATURDAY "Crazee Cell Phone" ART

Just like mine Mommy changes my blog header each month,
she also changes the wallpaper on her cell phone.
And it's usually a picture of me!
So this month she decided to design something fun and different and kinda sorta
crazee and used the original photo below.
She used like a bazillion tools in Adobe, layer on layer on layer,
and the bottom picture was the end result ~

~ original ~

Unfortunately, once this "crazee art" was on her cell phone she really didn't
like it so much.  So, I'm not her November wallpaper after all!
There's just a big bunch of gnarly pumpkins and gourds and stuff like that!

Besides, I reminded her about what we learned way back in Photography 101:
the camera sees what the eye doesn't always see ...
you don't always see that pole sticking out of someone's head and
s'riously, I do not wear a lampshade on mine!

ALMOST WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

It's real early and it's still dark outside.  As usual, mine Mommy gots
our windows open, and the chilly morning air ~
like 30ish/40ish out there blows in and I gets cold.
So, all summer I'd get in my donut after breakfast, but now I get in my blankie basket.
We do gets up early, like 2 am, yeah, believe me, she doesn't sleep
awholabunch, six hours is her thing.  I'd sleep longer, but not her.  That's
why I go back for a nap right away.  But don't tell, she does like her
afternoon naps, yeah meowz.
Anyway, I'm trying to get her attention, looking thisaway and thataway
cause I need her to cover my head.  I've wiggled around in here but I just
can't get my polka dot Ellen blankie up and all over me ...
mine Mommy ... meowz, please ... do it for me.

Purrsonally speaking, I'm thinking she's too busy
and too excited to pay attention to me
cause she watching all the early morning news and
and cheering on the "blue wave" of last night ... meowz!

HAPPY [Stop Frowning] MONDAY

Mine Mommy!  What have you done?
Plunked a lefty-over Meow-O-Ween hat on my head?

Of course not, silly June.  Punkins (and a punkin-hat to keep your furry ears warm)
are for now and for all month and soon for Thanksgiving, too ~

But just yessers-day you were all about Christmas,
you have me all confused ...

Well, silly June.  Tip your punkin-hatted head down a
bit for more Christmas reminders ... meowz...
and get that frown off your face!

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE ~

You can email me, anytime between now and November 20.
With a little help from mine Mommy, I'll let you know what to send me
[not too much] to sign up for the Holiday Card Exchange.
Then, just after Thanksgiving I'll send you a list of all the
friends 'n' furriends who have joined ~ easy-peasy.

The post office says it's best to send our cards [domestic ones]
by December 18 and [international ones] by December 9,
if we want Santa and his elves to deliver them by Christmas day!

I really love sending 'n' sharing cards each year, it's kinda sorta
a happy thing to do.  With the Holiday Card Exchange you can choose
to send yours by mail with stamps, or by email or both!

So, paw me a note, JUNE at zoolatry at gmail dot com,
and I'll meow back to you, and I'll send you my Christmas card, too! Meows!
