NOT SO WORDLESS WEDNESDAY with DOUGIE DOG

PHOTO CAPTIONS

1.  Does this mean it's time to take down the tree?

2.  Dougie, did you know Santa is already writing his 2018 Naughty and Nice list?

3.  OH NO, that was my favorite ornament!

4.  Your nails definitely need trimming.

5.  You say, "Zoey did it!" ?

6.  You say, "The grandboy did it" ?

7.  Seriously, you now want a treat?  Now?

8.  Maybe you should just be w.o.r.d.l.e.s.s. the rest of the day and
not get yourself into any more trouble ...

Feel free to suggest Dougie's excuse for his mishap if you leave a comment.

A SPECIAL CHRISTMAS WISH

I have posted this image, and this message now for many years, 2012 being the first year.  Holidays, anniversaries, many days and dates throughout each year bring memories of joy, and of sadness to those who have lost a loved one.  Early on sadness and grief far outweigh memories of good times, it is the natural order.  I am now blessed and thankful to have the fullness of joyful memories.  I share my thoughts this year with three of my cousins whose beloveds have left their earthly homes, I understand and feel their loss and they are in my prayers ~ Patty U., Kathy L., and Mary M.B.
I am also remembering dear friends who have also lost a spouse, remembering them with the hope they will find peace among their tears, joy tucked into sadness ~ Alice R., Sharon S., Maggie M.
So many others have said farewell to a parent, a brother or sister, a longtime friend, and of course, a treasured pet ~ too many to name.  To each, to all, I offer a prayer of love and friendship, and a hope that good memories will grow stronger in your minds and hearts with each new day.  Blessings be yours.  Merry Christmas ~

CATURDAY ART ~ The Christmas Parade

"C'mon, Dougie Dog," said Zoey, "the parade is about to start!"

And Dougie Dog replied, "but Zo, I can't find my red boots!"

"Oh my cat," said Zoey, with a mischievous look in her eyes, "where can they be?"

Today we're joining our friends Athena and Marie, sponsors of the

LOOK WHAT I FOUND ...

Look, look, look!  Look what I found.  Here in the "back forty", er, I mean, the "back four" ...
I was back here, searching for one of my always-lost-Wilsons and found this!
I think the Christmas Cookie Elf was making neighborhood deliveries and dropped one!
Oh boy, this is gonna be a yummy treat ... and it's even got sprinkles!
Better not let the boy see it ... he loves sprinkles ...

I WANT WILSONS FOR CHRISTMAS

I've got myself a really, really BIG Christmas stocking!
You could even call it a Christmas bag!  Sort of like Santa's bag ... that's so it'll hold lots of t-balls,
or "Wilson's" as my friends Murphy 'n' Stanley call them.  Wilson's are the best toys a dog could
ever ever have.  Really!  Maybe I'll get some red ones ... they'll be easy to find in the yard!
But I won't be fussy about the color.  If you're reading this Santa, any color is O.K.  O.K?

CATURDAY ART: A Different Take

Our Caturday Art today is a bit different ~ no cats, no dogs, and yes ~ no kids either!  Just photo-art play with colors, shape and fonts.  The "top image" is mostly designed from type fonts.  Today there are so many amazing fonts that can be downloaded, they are an art form unto themselves and can often be colored, re-shaped, twisted and turned and of course beveled, shadowed, stroked and more.  The only element in this image that is "clip art" is the golden-clip holder for the ornament.  The red/black grid main background was repeated with a mosaic tool and green rules to make the inner border; then repeated again with a stained glass tool to make the outer border.  The five trees and the star are all from type fonts.  It was like building something ... putting one layer onto another, brightening or deepening the reds or the greens until it looked just right in my minds eye ... It was FUN!

This second image is anyone's guess as to the number of layers!  It began with a simple peppermint candy, polarized on a green circle and given as much shimmer and shine as possible.  Polarized again and then I cut out a 45 degree piece and copied it three times and put the four pieces together to create the ball ornament.  Again the gold holder is clip art.  Then the original art was squared, layered behind on an angle.  It was bordered with a stained glass version of the same peppermint candy piece.  And yet another layer placed behind that.  Probably could have kept going and going and going ... but one has to stop somewhere ... less is more I'm told.  Sometimes I can wind up with more being more.  Not good.  But again, FUN!  And I think both look very "holiday".  Enjoy.

Now head over and visit with our friends Athena and Marie
who sponsor CATURDAY ART each weekend, and see what everyone else is posting today.

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A BIT LIKE . . .

So, the Zoolatry Human was stretched out on her bed, watching TV (the boring news, always the news with her) ... and there I was ... stretched out beside her.  And suddenly, she plops this thing on my head.  Fuzzy.  Red.  White.  Itchy, too.  Hey: I can't see anything!  And then I hear her laughing, and saying, "oh yeah, it's beginning to look at bit like Christmas ...".  I think to myself,  I'm in for it for the next month or so ... do ya think?
